A few steps in between finish work lowering the side doors of the cowl and re-cutting the air outlets and carburetor filter opening. After reworking the shape and finishing of the glass re-work I lowered the engine side cowl on both sides, by about an inch . Using strip styrene I created a dam to build up with bondo fill, which was sanded flush to the styrene and feather into the sides to give the appearance of a single door over-lapping metal cowl door. I will make some cowl latches to give the appearance that the doors are held closed with these latches. The changes can be seen in the original cowl molding verses the changes made to my cowl.
My next step is to make the carburetor hood and inside filter , air outlet openings and finish , fill prime the cowl .

Foxeer Predator vs. the sunset | FPV CAMERA TEST (4 min 26 sec)

This is a DVR of the FOXEER PREDATOR V1 flying in one of the most difficult conditions: the sunset. There are a lot of shadows, different lights to handle, terrible backlit. I was really astonished by this camera, I've never seen so well in this conditions and I had no problem flying in any direction and in the shade. I can only imagine how good could it be the V2!!!

In the video I use the standard settings of the camera, the video's not been modified with any post production adjustments.

Coming soon a full test comparing:
- predator v1
- predator micro v2
- runcam swift 2 (the cam that I've always used before trying the predator)

N.B. All the images problem are only due to the bad DVR of my fatshark!

You can buy the cam here:

I have two LiPo batteries. One is at 3.7V (new battery) and other is at 3V(used one). I connected them in series and tried charging them in balance mode using iMax B6AC. But I am getting an error shown in picture.

This is the Happymodel Snapper7 the slightly larger Tiny Whoop with aluminum propeller protection and especially with brushless motors and 1S LiPo. My quadcopter has a FrSky receiver integrated on the F3 flight controller with telemetry!. The Whoop is available with Flysky or FrSky receiver which transmits all telemetry data to the spark. In the Flysky version, RSSI and the voltage are sent to the remote control. The canopy is made of hard, transparent plastic. The Happymodel motor is a small 0703 motor with 19000KV perfect for the 75mm frame. Optionally there is a plastic frame to make the Tiny Whoop even lighter.

I don't know how long it has been ..
But decided to recharge the batteries , I think their voltage was 3.7v or something .
And the Taranis Q x7 is no power hog , I guess I could have run them down a lot further .

But I decided to charge them up anyways .. ( How long has it been ? ) Definitely over 3 months .
Long enough so I dont actually remember recharging these particular batteries . ( NCR 18650B Panasonic 3400mAh )
Did I buy these like about 5 or 6 months ago ?
Oh well , this time I have written down the date that I am recharging on so I get some idea how long the batteries last .
I actually went outside and flew my WL Toys 686 quad
And a few days ago I flew the B-whoop . And been flying the Eachine E32HW ( Review shortly )

I hope this weather holds for a while longer

My friend Browny , had a bad day at our SAM Champs in Texaco this year , then at our Nats two weeks later due to wind when not needed . He crashed his Flamingo just after takeoff both times in the fly off of both events and bent the crankshaft in the original and then the replacement one that he had in a brand new engine which he fitted to the original engine .
He asked me if I could straighten them but after a couple of attempts it was a waste of time so I decided to make three new ones .
Was a bit difficult getting them out of the bronze bushed front housing and lost one bush because it was so badly bent but saved the housings and the new front end bush .
I decided to make them out of EN36A as it is reasonably tough in its normal state and turns well and wouldn't need hardening , so cut three pieces out of 11/4" bar . Faced and centred it and turned the thread/ prop area as it's hard to work up against the centre in the tail stock . Extended it out of the chuck and turned the rest of the straight shaft to 15 thou oversize , and did the grooves for the timer advance lock and the prop driver splines , also cut the prop nut thread as well and finished the prop area to size with a long tool but only needed a small clean up . Turned the outer diameter of the of the back end and then parted it off to suit the length of the crank pin . Then did the other two the same .
Transferred over to my smaller lathe as it has a collet head and I faced the back face and centre...Continue Reading

I decided to add a new boat to my marine fleet. It probably isn't the best boat on the planet but I got it for a decent price and I always wanted one.

So I picked up a ProBoat Ragazza 1 meter sail boat. Man this thing is big. A bit taller than I expected. I am looking forward to taking it to the pond for a maiden voyage.

A lot of the reviews said to stay away from this boat. A lot stated the directions were bad. And they were not kidding. The directions for this boat are the worst I have ever seen. Very poorly written. Who ever wrote them, definitely wasn't a modeler.

The boat came well packaged. Lots of foam to protect the hull and mast. All the parts were in their own bag with lables. ( all were wrong) The sails were packaged in a seperate tube with foam caps. The included radio was in its own box with padding to protect it as well. A nice aluminum stand was also included.

The hull is made of fiberglass. (a plus in my book) The fit and finish looks amazing But, parts bags were mislabled. Most parts were not in the correct bag anyway. A few of the screw holes didn't line up. Some of the screws looked used with the heads stripped out of them. The rigging for this boat is not very good either. The ends have crimp conections with adjustments at the bottom. I had two (2) of my adjustment ends pull apart. Thankfully I have a welder and was able to fix them. The spreader bars and crane on top of the mast are plastic. I will be interested to see how long...Continue Reading
