Well now,
2013 slope Fest is only 11 weeks away ,and I almost have everything in place for the event . I'm trying something extra this year with a small balsa build of vintage free flight gliders converted to RC. This is an attempt to draw fathers and sons( or daughters) into building rather than buy, bind and fly mindset that has taken over the hobby these days . I know I've heard the excuses ,I have no time to build ,its cheaper to buy it ready to go etc, etc. No excuse if you can sit in front of a computer and type on a forum or the kids spend time playing games on the Ipad or whatever surely a hour or so could be diverted to a build and bond session rather than a buy and bind session . Anyway the events shaping up to be another great get together of a broad range of pilots from every form of the hobby. Looking forward to it greatly
if you need to know more it's in the slope forum and the Manilla slope Fest 2013 thread and join in the fun.

Well that was a fantastic trip ,had a blast and everyone was just so friendly I couldn't believe it . The Boomerang did very well and actually took first place in the prop aircraft division ,a very difficult division to win I'm told anyway I did and have the trophy to prove it

For those interested , Even though I stepped down from the NSWSSA and no one has taken up the challenge as yet, I shall still maintain the clubs permission and registrations in the same manner as Dennis did. I will still put membership through as and when required. The NSWSSA was born in the early 80's and it structure and set up have not changed in that time . It works because its a good system, and I'm not going to go through any political discussion on it ,and as they say if it ain't broke don't fix it. On another note I'm looking forward to getting over to the US in May to fly with the San Diego guys at the ISR PSS fest ,going to take a million photos and video's . Then back and into September to catch up with everyone at the MSF13.

Well everything is in place now and we are only a little over a week away from the start of this years Manilla slope fest .It will be great to catch up with all the regulars, and meet some new slope candidates for their first ever slope outing (bet it wont be their last ) I'll be taking a smaller fleet this year ,last year I took 14 aircraft and only flew half of them ,so this year I'm only taking half

I find myself asking the question of what to build next
I'd actually like to build something like a bomber or similiar I could go for the CAC Kangaroo ,but not really all that excited about another single colour scheme to choose from like the Fouga 90 was Hmmmmm or maybe something like this ?

OK Scratch that plan I'll be doing a 2.0 mtr span Lockheed Hudson
