I had a chance to see Joe Malinchak's relly tiny micro RC collection and one of the Corsair's in action over the weekend. It was probably one of the hardest planes to record. Surprisingly fast. Plus, I recorded some really funny warbird formation practice. It was a great weekend, just very sad that my LHS is gone.

This has been a long and great flying season, but every week the sun goes down a little faster. I love having dedicated flying time on Wednesdays.

My Yak 3X never made it into the air. During the ground test the motor pulled out of the fuse. That nose over last week must have been a lot harder than I though. But Bob brought up his new HK Reverb and I recorded some video of it in action.

It was my 3rd week at the field and it was beautiful...again.

After years of flying at parks and one free field that has been sold and is no longer available, I decided to join the LAMs and submitted my paperwork and dues last night. Right after doing that I started the flying. The NVA was flying amazing last night. I had the Rare Bear battery too far back and ended up pretty high. The guys behind me were yelling that I must have great eye sight . I was high enough to glide it down gently for a long time. I like to fly my racing planes like they are gliders and my gliders like racing planes. Go figure.

To really wow everyone (when the wind almost stopped dead), I pulled out the UMX PT-17 and started walking towards the flight line. Everyone chuckled and said the little UMX planes can be flown over the side field by the parking lot, which I promptly did.

I was the last flight of the night (NVA flying against a wall of dark clouds with massive heat lightning was cool) and the last one out of the parking lot. The guys are very friendly and I think that the cost of joining was totally worth it. It is nice to know that I have a quiet and beautiful field to go to whenever I feel like flying.
