The markings match the Comanche with the most flight hours before the program was canceled. -

It is still the best looking combat helicopter ever made (IMHO). -

Cooling holes after smoking the front motor and 4in1 in an outdoor flight. -

Oh yeah. The offending front motor necessitating the cooling holes. Note the lifted commutator pad (melted glue?). -

That's me working on the sensor system I helped design.

Just spruce and foam construction (it is after all a stick). -

I may trim the saddle support sticks to lighten, but they make it plenty stiff. -

Formers are probably unnecessary to hold shape, but closing them up in the center makes the wing plenty strong. -

I love how the (darned) ripples in the BLuCore make the wing look it has ribs. -

Up she goes - no big excitement to a Slow Stick maiden. Needed a couple of clicks up trim. -

Before painting it, she got hard to see in the air. -

Landings can be almost straight down like a slow elevator. Lots of rudder needed here to turn in on approach in the late morning breeze. -

All painted up "not red".

Brodie did get the honor of playing a German "Snoopy" to pilot the DVII (note the Scotty ears and mustache).

A tri-color GWS Corsair is a thing of beauty in the air. -

After a tip-stall by giving too much elevator on take-off (to clear a temporary school classroom). This was the first maiden attempt after learning ailerons on the mocking, at that time unpainted (orange) Zero - sort of... -

After tip-stalling on a down wind left turn and spiral in. At this point I was used to replacing gearboxes, props and shafts, and getting experienced at foam repair. -

This was not entirely my fault. I was dogfighting a very experienced flyer who had brushless and lipo on his side. I simple lost it in a tough maneuver near the ground. -

Not to be out done, the Zero went in kamikazi style after two years of flying and being upgraded to a GWS brushless 2208 and 3S1P 2100 lipo. Was doing 40+ over (but too close to) the flight path of a buddy's Estarter, and he pulled up. -

The Corsair is back in flying trim, and recently upgraded to the old Zero brushless gear. GWS 2212, CC Thunderbird ESC, 3S1P 2100 Lipo. -

Even the Zero is still looking good. A testament to the recovery power of foam (and a bit of light weight spackle). Yes, that is all original fuse, but maybe the third cowling this bird has worn. -

Recent addition. A too windy day to be flying, and flying till the lipo cut out - not a good combo for me. Too low and turned too quickly to get the nose into the wind, tipstalled, and pancaked. Bad when you see parts pop up in the air.

GWS Corsair - stock. Too pretty to fly initially (for fear of nooby jitters), so on to a quick built unpainted Zero to learn ailerons. Had a completely different second life with brushless and lipo -

An aileron trainer for a fool - me. But she's still in flying trim and looking good. The orange belly helped after initially trying to fly an all green plane -

Noble effort to make an anime ship I love from BlueCor. Never could get off the ground. Maybe someday with brushless and lipos...
