So now it has been 15 hours of tinkering with the Vortex 250 Pro, and to my surprise have not been able to solve this one. Replaced one of the Luminere 2204 2300kv motors, and attempted to switch from a D4R-2 to an X4R-SB ran in CPPM. I mounted the new motor, connected the wires (did it lazily the first time....went back and soldered them), connected the X4R-SB and bridged 2 and 3 to put into CPPM mode. I bound my Taranis X9D Plus, updat3d the firmware OSD first 1.xxxx28, and flashed BetaFlight IRCFusionF3 2.5.3 on Cleanflight. Connected to the quad and adjust all the proper settings ie: Ports, Config, and what the others. Made sure my reciever was acting proper on the Reciever page, and then I got to Motors. Click the saftey tab, move the master slider up, and the motors barely pulse on and off for 1.5seconds. Disconnected and now everytime you connect a battery to the quad the motors spin up!! Never seen this before. Tried flashing different firmwares through IRCTools, Vortex Config, Cleanflight, Betaflight and nothing works. Tried bootloader button, checked the hardware, I've made model after model in the Taranis, and even went back to 2.1.2....The quad will flash with different OSD .fw and .hex but the motors still spin up. I've tried just about everything I can think of to fix this. If anyone has ever heard of this, or has an idea how to fix I open as a book lol.

Hey everybody. I just wanted to let you guys know we have remodeled our office and warehouse to welcome in all our locals who are in need of their multi-rotor parts. Previously we primarily focused on getting our online orders fulfilled before the shop got above 95 degrees, and when all daily orders were shipped our staff would go home. This made it difficult for our friends to come by and pick up their orders, or grab an extra set of props before hitting the field.

Now we have solid hours, Monday thru Friday from 10AM until 6PM you can come in and we will be happy to get you what you need We are also open on Saturdays from 10AM until 2PM but are closed on Sundays
Our location is 3355 Myrtle Ave, Suite #215 in Sacramento, not far from I80 & Watt Ave.

So feel free to stop on by and say Hi, check out our latest frames and flight control boards, or pick up the latest set of racing motors that you wont find at any other hobby shop!

This is a very nice kit of a beautiful plane. I added a couple of simple mods to it including a functioning air brake, drogue chute, and upgraded fans and ESCs to match.

Unfortunately my maiden flight turned out to be a disaster, for reasons still not known...no smoking gun presently. Thoughts include ESC imbalance or over stress (Thanks to "In the tube deep" who lost a beautiful Eurofighter using the same ESC) or paid back Karma...who knows at this point.

Anyhow here are a few before and after pics. ...Continue Reading

Very easy so I give this MOD 1 out of 5 wrenches in difficulty.
I have seen others like this so not claiming to be my invention just the way I did it.
A gentleman on hackaday said to never feel bad about using hot-melt glue on a hack, great!
I am happy with the run time on stock size batteries. I also like the extra punch from lighter weight BUT, some bigger batteries are cheaper. These 3500mAh were $10 during a 3DR clearance. Boosts my run-time from 10 minutes to 15 minutes.
Only item besides hot-glue needed is a vitamin bottle. I covered the inside of mine with foil tape which I believe helps reliability near urban areas but YMMV.
If you don't have the vibra tool to cut the body then I like to gently heat a old steak knife or utility knife to cut the body. Watch out for the circuit board inside and supports on either side of the battery compartment. Best part of this mod is it leaves the battery door intact....Continue Reading

I decided to install Dronin on my Robocat as a test to see if i could get a tighter tune than my manual "random clicking of anything"

It was so solid i decided to flash it to my Eachine Racer 250.

Below are RAR compressed .UAV files taken before AND after running Dronin's Autotune if you feel like having a quick gander.

On both quads IBUS was used.
On both quads CC3D.

Robocat :

Motors 2204 2300kv
Esc Little Bee 20 amp.
Battery used 1500mah 3cell 45C

Eachine Racer 250 : All stock components.

Motors 2204 2300kv
Esc SimonK 12A
Battery used 1500mah 3cell 45C.

Took a moth in off the streets and cleaned her up, stipped off painted over packing tape, patched up some holes, Fuse was not originally spackled, so did some layers of spackle and.paint), sand, airbrushed bright orange, did some black texture using airbrush .35 fine needle. Covered with clear packing tape (just where detail painted. Sprayed wing with m77 glue after sanding, spackling, and painting white. Then Iron on carbon ultraCoat, after test fitting all parts, and replacing with new servos, new clevis etc.

Thought I would post a picture of the throttle tap on the AR6410LBL board for those who want to install an external esc. With this setup you don't have to change anything in the transmitter. Used this setup on my 1806 powered P-47 and it works great. Name: 20160629_005509.jpg

Hope this helps anyone with a build that requires a better esc than the stock unit.

modifying anything depends of our point of view of things.
there are those who think that 'if it works, dont mess with it', and do fine. and there are the others, the adventurous, who are always looking for something to 'improve'. and frequently get into trouble.
things are not only not improved, but get messy.
but not only there is room for both; it depends of the personality and goals. both are right, even if at opposite ends.
if it were not for those who want to try a new idea, we still would be living in caves. on the other hand, the conservatives make life safer.
so, after all, we need to understand the others point of view and live in harmony.
live and let live!

For the 1st time in 18 years, the IC pair made noise. The circuit was free from defects & did a lot better than the HTR-5230. Standby current was 160mA. They seem to need the full back panel for heat sinking. As expected, the high frequencies were gone because of the lack of a tone control. Being of much older age makes treble enhancement essential. Volume control used the ultra shmick MAX412 with 28Mhz gain bandwidth product to try to retain as much high frequency as possible.

Other than nostalgia, it's rather pointless considering a modern amplifier with 3x the power is $15. The TDA7377 does 2x30W with a lot less parts. The LA4461 does a mere 12W. Quiescent current is the same on both chips.

Love this thing. Really want to fabricate a spot light for it but I can't figure out how to pull it off. Short of a 3D print job I guess I could make one out of balsa.
