Just want see what's out there for Byron Originals aircraft. Primarily interested in finding a P40 & Baron B58. However I have interest in others as well. Also always interested in reasonable priced parts and pieces for Byron aircraft.

Just started yesterday on building a profile F7F using the FT EZ 3 channel power system.
Target scale is roughly 0.38 m / 0.48 kg. Draft plans / skin shown below.

Built a quick model in Blender and now have it flying in PhoenixRC.
Working on creating plans, and have the FT power pack on order.
Also have several sheets of foamboard in hand, so getting close to cutting foam and plugging in the glue gun!
And not that it matters, but all that was done in a single day.

But right now waiting for one of our cars to be serviced, life being what happens while you're making other plans.

In case anybody comes this way - I've written a simulator for R/C planes , mostly gliders since that's what I tend to fly. It's completely free on Windows and mostly free on iOS/Android (limited sceneries/planes in the free version). You may be able to get it to run under linux (wine) and/or OSX (PlayOnMac).

http://rowlhouse.co.uk/PicaSim/

It's not under active development at the moment for a couple of reasons:

* I needed to concentrate on writing software for my own business
* Technical reasons which mean future development would require as significant re-write of the platform layers.

Nevertheless, I hope it's still useful and fun. I've met a lot of people (online and in real life) through it, discovered DLGs (thanks Jenne!), and improved my own flying!

Thanks Andrew review Detrum Gavin 6C ! 'Detrum Gavin 6C 6 channel transmitter and MSR66A 6 channel Gyro receiver.
Budget priced but very well featured transmitter from Detrum. Over the air gyro adjustment and lots of mixes and programability''

Dear Fans of ISDT Chargers,

Recently, We got Feedback from some users that they have no idea how to make voltage calibration on PD60 charger ? PD6O is tiny and no display here, yes, you will be confusing if you come across this. But actually the progress to do a calibration on PD60 is super easy. Let us guide you here;

First of all, please connect your lovely PD60 with computer via a USB cable. Then you must have a Calibrate exe. which you can download on our website, or you can ask for it from [email protected].

Make sure you need to have a 4S Lipo full charged battery for calibration. Using your multimeter or other professional device to know voltage values of each cell and the whole battery. Then connect your 4S Lipo with PD60.

Start the exe. and click CONNECT. Input your real voltages, then you can calibrate it! Please see photos attached for your reference.

What's more, here is a FacClear function on exe. Plug out your battery first and you can click it to clear factory flags.

Already knew how to calibrate for your PD60? Hope this will help you and more questions please contact [email protected]!

Thank you all,

Your best ISDT Team

So my servos just showed up.
I'll post a pic of the package soon.

I was needing a 100oz, ordered a 298oz.
Is this going to crank too hard and wrench the rudder off the transom if it goes full lock and hits the mounting bracket?
Or just bend the beans out of everything?

Probably a dumb question, but this is my first build.

The original Church was built in 1928 and 1929, by Jim Church of Chicago. He used basic Heath Parasol parts, ie the wings, body and tail. His plane was powered with the famous Henderson motorcycle engine. In 1929, Jim entered the Church in the Cleveland Air Races in the 100 cu in class. The Church, piloted by Freddie Lund, test pilot for Waco, lead the race for five laps before a burned valve forced it from the race. The airplane performed so well, Jim started kitting his modifications for the Heath. He also sold the complete plane and parts to potential builders.

General Characteristics

Length: 16 ft 9 in (5.11 m)
Wingspan: 26 ft 8 in (8.13 m)
Wing area: 110 ft2 (10 m2)
Empty weight: 367 lb (166 kg)
Gross weight: 584 lb (265 kg)
Fuel capacity: 4.5 Gal (17 L)
Powerplant: 1 × Heath-Henderson B-4 Inline 4 cylinder, 27 hp (20 kW)

Performance

Maximum speed: 78 kn (90 mph, 140 km/h)
Cruise speed: 61 kn (70 mph, 110 km/h)
Stall speed: 24 kn (28 mph, 45 km/h)

I was going through cleaning out my old plans I did back in 2007-2010 which were mostly profiles and I decided to see if I could adapt my F-107 profile to be more of a full fuse design, but use a rocket tube and nose cone to make it simpler. I had to make some concessions to scale appearance but I think it captures the look ok. Length is 36", winspan is 34", weight is 11.25 oz ready to fly using a 24mm Aerotech composite e-6 longburn motor. In this video I still had to finish the vinyl markings on the other half of the plane, but the weather was perfect for a maiden so out it went. These are the first three flights in order, flew beautifully.

I've been way too lazy in blogging anything here. This has been one weird year so far, but we've managed to fly decently. Here's first batch: spring time bootcamp again at Piikajärvi airfield.

Check full gallery with videos, it's well worth it!

I recently purchased the 9021V3 w/o electronics. I have the ARRMA 2050KV, 4POLE, BLX, 6S rated brushless motor, and 150amp BLX185 ESC, & the servo that came with that ARRMA 6S RIG. 1st off out the box it had a busted body mount,, As im going thru, (R,R&R)= remove, replace,& rebuild.
So far I've inspected front diff, center diff, front dog bones, hubs, bearings ETC. Both front dog bones are bent. And its BRAND NEW. IDK what the outcome will be but im in a dispute with "DANGBAD" oops. BANGGOOD.COM over there so called quality of products.

Mike K purchased a used Mini Apprentice from Mike B. This 48” span model will be able to handle winds better than his 4 ounce UMX Turbo Timber. I programmed his DX6 and trimmed her out with SAFE OFF then turned SAFE On. Every maneuver checked good except for aileron to rudder mix that I put into the transmitter. I did not know that it was already programmed into the AR636 A receiver. I think she went cross control similar to the larger Apprentice with the older Apprentice SAFE receiver. There was minimum damage and after replacing the stock prop with an APC 9/6E and inhibiting the TX aileron/rudder mix she flew fine. I like her more than the larger Apprentice because of the Re designed stab. This Apprentice came without a nose wheel and had been in a nose down crash as evidence from the compression wrinkles and a new cowl. I brought her home to make some improvements such as:
1. Adding a steerable tailwheel
2. Programming the ESC prop brake
3. Trimming the stock spinner to fit the APC9/6 prop
4. Glueing the bindplug receptacle to the fuselage side
5. Moving the 18 amp ESC forward to the motorway for more cooling air
6. Adding cloth covered bungee bands to replace the 6 rubber bands.

Chinese made BG knife (9 min 55 sec)

Yes , I am Covid 19 bored ! Danger Dan say's you cant do nothing !
So I got to keep busy , or get seriously bored ! ( I want to fly RC )

Speaking off ! BG had a sale ( BG ? ) that might be confusing . Anyways , banggood had a sale @ the Oz warehouse giving me the opportunity to avoid 10% GST and shipping over and above , if I had purchased from China . Thats got to be nice ...
Anyways , got me a FMS 800 Fox ( Not the V-tail ) , already have the V-tail . ( More some other time )

This is the Chinese BG knife . Out of the box it was not overly sharp at all . So I put a 22deg bevel on it and got it shaving sharp . Honestly I did not expect this knife to do as well as it did . In fact it could have been amazing if not for the edge rolling . But this is a slightly brutal test and for light duty that edge may have lasted a terribly long time . For $16 Ozzi bananas shipped to my door I dont think there is anything to complain about ( cough - cough - rolled edge ) .
So keeping the low / low price in mind , the Chinese BG might make for a decent - I don give a hoot knife !
