It saddens me to say this at this point in time with all of my friends made over the years. I will be stepping away from the hobby as a Pilot and a Manufacture of model airplanes and soaring products of M M Glider Tech. After 26 years it's time to take a break. My career in Aerospace has taken off in a new direction. I believe that I will have no time to do the things I love to do anymore at this time with model airplane manufacturing. My family and my career come first now. So I thank everyone for the support and friendship we have made over all these years. At some point in time we may be back. I will continue to support the hobby as a modeler designing new models to fly!

Thank you for your support!

On my Ford Flivver’s maiden flight, it rose six feet off the deck and then nose dived. I managed to pull up enough to just pancake. It landed in grass but the central landing gear wire shoved upward hard enough to break the wing-to-fuse “tongue.” She couldn’t fly and take it home after it’s five second maiden. .

My mind went into overdrive. Reviewed pre-flight check list. Had the throws set just so-so. Did the range test. Picked a dead-calm day. Why would this plane dive like that?

A guy at the field suspected that I decreased the elevators too much. That was the first hint. Elevators.

When I hung up the plane in my garage, I eventually saw the problem the next day. When I was in my pre-flight checkup. an older flier at the field noticed my elevators were reversed. And he quickly reversed the controls.

What I missed was that when the elevator controls were reversed to normal, I did not look at how they were now in a downward position when neutral. Boom. She dove.

My elevator servo was installed in the rear of the plane. It required only moving the control arm 1/8”, but that was enough to level out the elevators.

Some new balsa and Monokote patchwork put the plane back to ready. Looking forward to flying soon.

Another lesson learned. When reversing controls, check the flying surfaces to see if they changed.

This is yet another offering for a cheap FC with silverware on it,
This one has reciever built in as usual but what sets it apart from others before it is the fets for the motors are updated with higher current draw and lower resistance which in theory should give more power..
In my test flights I certainly did notice a bit more power so the fets do seem to be making a difference.
The price is good too at $6.52.

Get it here from https://m.xt-xinte.com/BEECORE-Lite-...r-p527586.html
Check out the xt-xinte sight for lots of other good deals for drones.

First up I will put a flight video made with a boldclash b03 whoop with this FC in, this is flown in acro mode with an akk bs2 camera stuck on with elastic bands lol.

beecore lite FC with silverware from xt-xinte (3 min 15 sec)

A few pictures of the FC as it comes.

Welcome to my Confessions of a rookie want-a-be pilot..

You Tube got me interested in this drone world . My first was a KX-X300. Choose it because it had a 5.8ghz FPV.. included monitor and Altitude hold feature.. 20 minute flight time.. Auto take off and landing... Etc. Etc.... and good reviews.

Before that KX arrived from China.. I waz in a small Walmart and ran across a "TO GOOD" to be true deal. I searched everywhere on line and no one had one within $125 of that price..

So bought a 2nd bird before I even had the 1st one in hand. The cheap price soon changed as I acquired travel case and on and on.

The Phanton waz a" "" perfect "" "first drone. They fly themselves.. Now.. the bad part about that is... when you pick up a regular bird.. It takes only seconds to realize that you have NO IDEA how to fly.

I actually spent more time labeling the controller buttons then total flight time with that Xk X300..

After crashing into a neighbor's carport and his covered porch in less then 2 minutes.. The hand writting waz on the wall.

A tree and another neighbor's storage building soon became my next victims... Keep in mind.. i was trying to fly in an open common area in our retirement community.. Not just in the front yard..

I put it back in the box and flew the Phanton again.. Reinstalling my confidence..

I moved to an open area near the pond to shoot some photos with the P3S. Then I made the mistake of talking to my buddy while launching the KX again.

It soared sideways across the pond.. Hit the limbs of a big Oak tree and slithered down into the pond.
I waded in that pond for 3 consecutive days with a leaf rake and a metal detector and never found it.

So price per minute to learn how to fly was a somewhere around $37.50 a minute.. Tuition at this school is pricey.

Too be continued....

Thanks for stopping by...

Be Well All

Yep Les Amis,
Tello or not Tello, sympa pour un p'tiot !

Bill is really starting to get the hang of flying his E-flite Ultimate 2. It is impressive how responsive this 3D Aerobatic RC biplane BNF Basic RC plane with SAFE can be. This was his third flight and he just keeps getting better with this E-flite Biplane.

I usually write posts in Russian for www.rc-aviation.ru. Now I decided to start mirror publications in English here . I am placing below links to old rc-aviation articles - if someone needs to translate them in English - translate.google.com does good job here.

After shaping the canopy in the lats episode, I installed the dowel in the nose of the canopy and drilled the hole in the firewall to accept the dowel. This holds the front of the canopy down. Horizontal balsa rods wedge the canopy into the fuselage to prevent left/right movement, and a rotating tab locks the rear of the canopy down. It all works well without Monokote, but I'm a little nervous if it will all fit so nicely when all the parts are larger by the thickness of the Monokote.

I started fitting the servos so I can get the pushrods assembled and measured, and I put new wires and connectors on an ESC from another plane, which I'm hoping to reuse.

I put the bevel on the elevator. The elevator is hinged on the stabilizer with a strip of Monokote on the top, so the trailing edge of the stab stays straight, and the elevator is beveled on the bottom, giving a smooth top surface to the empennage.

A drone flies dangerously close to an A380 during take off. The video shows an Airbus A380 taking off from the Plaine Magnien Airport located on the Mauritius Island in the Indian Ocean. The A380 is the largest commercial airliner in the world and can carry more than 500 passengers in a typical three class seat configuration and up to 850 passengers in a densified all-economy cabin version. As the jumbo jet takes off from the runway 14, the prepositioned drone films the plane passing dangerously close at about 300 feet from the tip of the left wing. The airliner belongs to the Dubai-based company Emirates. It seems to be the 4:35 p.m. flight EK702 on regular schedule to Dubai airport.
