It worked! I was able to re-fit and re-balast my 1/20 YF-12 for an H-13 and got a boost this morning to 1170 feet.

I designed/built this yesterday, a simplified Buran shape, with a slightly enlarged wing, approx 1/72 scale, 18" wingspan, 21" length, 8.2. oz ready to fly using an E-6 longburn Aerotech composite rocket motor.

Believe it or not we opened stockings today and I got some servos and a receiver so I put them quickly to good use. I made a small R/C rocket glider with a 12-in disc wing, bt60 tubing and a mini bertha nose cone. 25" long, 5.25 oz rtf with d2.3 motor. Flew great, nice long glide, didn't need to touch the trims got in two flights right at sunset and then headed home to hand cut some red, black and chrome vinyl trim to finish it off. I really like disk wings.

It flew! It doesn't glide very long, but it works, it's cute, it's a viper and no one else has one

I worked on this yesterday, X-37B inspired, came out nicely, using BT-80 tubing, pnc-80BB cone and 6mm and 3mm depron for surfaces and side plates. I moved the wing back and upsized it for glide and to allow it to function like a delta and have fixed V tail which works better in general than modeling the actual X-37B layout. It goes high and fast, around 800 feet, just below the cloud deck today, fast but nice glide. it's small, 24" long, 2.6" diameter, 18.5" wingspan, about 1 sq foot of wing area, 7.6 oz ready to fly using a 24mm composite Aerotech E-6. It was very roll sensitve, I had to tone down the roll rate to 30%. Looks great in the air and on approach.

I listened to an AMA podcast with Hoot Gibson and he was working, among other things, an F-4D, I figured if it was good enough for him it was good enough for me. For some reason even though I'm fascinated by the jets of the 50's and 60's I've never built one. This is made with a 2.6" tube and cone, the new 6mm and 3mm depron being imported, 34" wingspan, 32" length, 10.5 oz ready to fly using a 24mm E-6 long burn composite motor.
