Field Test - Turnigy 3S 2200mah 25C LIPO in the Focke Wulf FW 190

Here is a link to the Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a42p9Cu0tFo

The wind during these flights was 4-5mph and the temperature was 48F.

I love the fact that these LIPOs are 16 grams lighter than the Specs state and a full 20 grams lighter than the 3S 2200mah LIPOs I have been using.
I conducted a 5 minute flight on all 5 packs while being in the throttle a lot and the packs came down with voltages at 3.65v per cell.
You should be able to get 6 minute flights in fairly cool weather and most like closer to 7 minute flights in warm weather with 3.5v per cell left in the packs.
I think they performed very well and the fact that they weigh 20 grams lighter than my other packs gives a little better thrust-to-weight ratio.

Thrust : 1070 grams
AMPS : 26.5 (approx. 20 amps in flight at full throttle)

Thrust to Weight Ratio: 1.8:1

Got my fli14+ receivers and put one in a brand new build. After the usual cautionary maiden, I had my first real flight to see how it performed. Result: terribly. I expected good results from these, as they look exactly like the Flit10 receivers. But clearly something is different.

We're down to the last day of pre-orders for the 20cc Beaver kit. Pre-orders will wrap-up about noon CDT tomorrow, so we have just over 25 hours left. If you've been waiting for the last moment to order, now is the time to jump in!

Pre-order gets free shipping, plus a nice ceramic Beaver coffee mug. During this campaign, we've also received word that the factory made an error in pricing the kit, so there's a possibility the final price will be higher than $319 (impact not yet certain). 😯 We will honor the $319 price for all pre-orders placed during this campaign, so ordering now will also lock in that price.

Hello everyone,

I was hoping if anyone had any spare plastic and wooden parts to finish the slo-mo-shun iv “520” model, from Billing Boats, the stern tube with shaft and propeller and all the extra details? I need these for my school project, where I am building my own boat out of my own wooden parts, but I don't have the means to make the metal and plastic details on the boat, due to lack of skill and resources/equipment. Therefore, I was hoping anyone had any advice to find them or if they had any spare?

PS: Don't know if this is a problem I do live in Europe, which could cause some shipping problems, but I dunno.

Thank you, for saving my school project.

The Dynam PA-18 Super "Piper" Cub was actually the first plane I got to start back into the RC plane hobby. I got it as a gift from my my wife. Unfortunately, it spent more time being a lawn dart than a flying airplane. Now granted some of that was my inexperience. I went on to have successful flying with the Hobbyzone Champ and other airplanes.

I have now decided to dust the plane off and try to bring it back to life. And I have already been making modifications to it since parts are extremely hard to come by. Some of the modifications are even from my experiences with working with foamboard and Flitetest planes. Join me on this small journey to bring this plane back to life!

Hubsan H501S X4 5.8G FPV Brushless With 1080P HD Camera GPS RC Drone Quadcopter

I never really liked Hubsan products very much. A vendor that was a friend of mine had major quality issues with Hubsan products, and they would not stand behind their products. Early in my quad flying days, I bought an H107C, may have been my first camera quad. Had to reroute wires before I could fly it the first time, replace a motor after 3 flights, then another motor after 10 flights. And it did not fly anywhere near as well as a WLToys V202. Probably less than 15 flights and I shelved it, never to fly it again. I reviewed the Hubsan X4 Camera Plus and it was a little better, but still not really a winner.

So when the Hubsan H501S went on sale recently it piqued my interest, but being a Hubsan product I was a bit skeptical. Still, I had heard good things about the H107S, so I ordered one. I really like my MJX B2W quads and the H501S is a direct competitor. I think the B2W may be a clone of the H501S, but it comes with wifi FPV. Plus the H501S comes with 5.8ghz FPV, a monitor built into the transmitter, and dual GPS. Those are features not included with the B2W. So for close to the same price I paid for my last B2W, I got a quad with better features and slightly longer flight times. I also got an H107S-S which is the newer version of the quad with a standard transmitter. From what I have read, the standard transmitter is better than the advanced transmitter because...Continue Reading

It's been years(since 2012 since i've flown nitro with my trusty trex 700n). Now i'm back into it. I just recently finished a Synergy N7 build with 91srx and Hatori pipe. Futaba BLS272/276 servos. Vintage stuff for sure. I tried starting it today during lunch but no luck. I'm a little concerned the fuel I bought at LHS might be bad. it's 30% powermaster heli fuel but the color was clear coming out of the can. I've read online this can happen and it's still OK but who knows. I guess the $29 price might not have been a bargain after all LOL. I used an Enya #5 so I was thinking that might also be an issue so I tried an Enya #3 but at the point the battery on my dynatron had drained. Will try again tonight.

Caddx Turtle Comparison Lens Test with GoPro Lens Upgrade

A quick test of an old glass GoPro lens on the Caddx Turtle after my plastic Caddx stock lens started to pick up tiny scratches. Probably could do with tuning down the sharpness on the Caddx Turtle settings. Also getting annoyed about the spot on the camera sensor (a free gift from Caddx) which I should try to clean one day.

No props in view and Less Jello:
Tuning Betaflight 3.5.2 and getting used to feedforward so quad not locked in but no real jello with new props and tight camera screws.

Less Fish Eye:
Pleasingly, the initial result is better than the similar run with the stock lens (video below)

Many motor, prop, and battery combos tested.
I am very happy with the 3.75x3.3 and 3.5"x3.3n prop on 4-7s 350 mah.
F20 15gram, 3200kv is limited to 350 4s and 3.75" prop.
F30 21 gram, 2300kv uses 3.5" for 6-7s.
F80 38 gram, 2500kv swings 4x3.3"-6x4"
The 70s vintage 6x4" stamped 20c (cents) gives explposive performance using 900 mah 4s on a 13 ounce plane.
The 4x3.3 on 8s draws less amps than most 4s props.
Max amps of 40-60 tested on the F80 Pro with no excess heat noted. Wow!
The little motors draw up to 20 amps.
