Well still working the form of my Kangaroo and my nacelle. It’s been a bit of fill and sanding but coming along. Wings are almost ready for prime as I’m doing a few touch ups on the skin. Then I’ll prime and need to start to commit to my paint scheme.

The answer is yes, lions have gotten fatter since the last container was printed. It's probably been going on ever since the 1st container in 2015. As the containers have gotten bigger, the amount of food has indeed increased. Once you realize 1 more noodle container fits, you always put it in. Overheating motors have not deterred lions from stuffing in as much as possible. There's always a need to find the maximum capacity.

At least the steering since the software I2C has been rock solid.

Laminated my BoneYard VI 800mm EPP foam wing with lightest laminate (.05 mm) which perhaps is a little too light in that it wrinkles more easily when ironing on but wow, this wing is strong - can't bend it. The laminate cannot be pulled off the foam.
Weighs 150 grams total with the laminate weighing 50 grams. Didn't have to reinforce the elevons with spars as the laminate makes them very rigid.
Taped elevons to body with ugly yellow packing tape.

My iron got a little too hot so melted foam a bit in spots. Out of practice.

Ready for electronics.

AMA National Fun Fly at AMA HQs
July 30-August 1,2021

This will be the 2nd National Fun Fly . Last years had about 80 registered pilots who were able to attend. It would have been more but there was this Virus thing that has really put a damper on flying events. This is a non- competitive Fun Fly. Fly what you want.
Have you always wanted to visit your AMA? Well now is the time to start planning. As more info becomes available I'll post . Be thinking about it. Visit the world class AMA museum and AMA Hqs. Make a day trip to Dayton and see the USAF Museum it's only a short 1-1/2 hr drive and good roads all the way.

I recently bought the latest 32mm 2100kV motor version of the FMS 80mm 12 blade fan.
The fan came extremely well balanced, better than I could do myself.

Here is a quick video of the static thrust test I did today. The amps were quite a lot lower than other people reported, I guess I may have got a slightly lower kV wind that other people. Thrust was a very good 3100g for only 94A peak at 23.3V.

Yep Les Amis,
Tazkiller85 VS LILRockFPV, l'affrontement ultime !

So there was delamination in a tire, giving a vote for tapered edges. Only the left tire delaminated, showing it was a problem with the 1st layer in the printing process.

The mane problem was both motors got flaming hot again. This time, the left motor seized up. It's definitely from pulsing the throttle with a heavy payload. They burned 1.5Ah to go 2 miles. If the throttle is constant with a heavy payload, it gets by. The bolts started flying off, despite being impossible to turn by paw. M2.5 bolts are so expensive, it might be easier to replace the entire motor.

It's still nominally burning 350mAh/mile with a payload & softer tires in front. It may be time to upgrade the front tires. Motor seizing happened with the original hard tires.

The next revision of camera electronicals began. It's getting the full frequency hopping 500mW.

Maximum kudos to AlkaM and voodoobrew and learningarduino!
Much thanks!

These are my two cents.

If you want to flash AM32 (firmware open source made bij Alka Motors) on to a wraith32 35A esc v2 for use in a crawler.

My goal: silent outrunner Holmes Hobbies revolver 1800kv in my 4,1kg weighing ZIL-130 rc truck

Voodoobrew has an excellent thread on rccrawler.com with a superb tutorial.

I used an ST link and cube programmer softwwre on an windows 64 laptop.
Remove the alu casing from the st link and check the pin labels.

Power from 3S lipo battery to the ESC while trying to flash the ESC causes an error. At least in my case.
Use the 5V supply from the ST link to the batt terminal.

I found a wraith 1800 kv full bin file on voodoobrew’s page.

When I get my revolver I’ll test it 😀

Here are two skins modified by me, if you Rick can combine them with their respective models, that's fine, as I only changed the graphics on the original files.

so the tiger moth many years ago I built a scale model of it with a OS 120 4 stroke and got fed-up with it in the first week of flying I had then the need for speed it only came out on show days but generally gather dust,
until my daughter found a photo of her 1 year old standing up griping the top wing now she is 30 years old so I dusted it off and took it up again and it is just about the right speed for me now but needed to be bigger as my vision is not that good now and I have change to gas motors as they are easer to run and the fuel is easer to get hold of.

we set out to build a 2.2m wing span tiger moth as light as we could with a 45 to 60 single cylinder gas motor spinning a 24 / 8 prop with materials from local suppliers with the lockdown made it hard to get materials for old suppliers as balsa is becoming harder to get we need to fined a strong than balsa but as light and at a good price not a easy to do but we have mange to come up with good designed flying model that fits are flying stile both being 65 this year so big and slow is what is need now.

the first thing was a good 3 View Drawing of the D82 Tiger of witch i had all of my old drawing info most of it came from my old David Bonnington drawings and pilot press detailed drawings of the D H 82 we have gone for working wing rigging so we can throw it around a bit and it has scale working ruder and elevator controls or you can just fit servos to the back with short control arms.

so after lots of...Continue Reading
