I installed different gear on the plane because I absolutely hate the stock gear freewing puts on the plane. I know it's more practical for the stock gear to be the way they are but I just cant stand them lol. I went ahead and purchased the eflite main gear and installed them without any major modifications to the plane. Here are some pictures.

*update- finally finished everything. I had to 3d print something to hold the nose gear steering servo because it's a pull-pull system and I was able to fit it in there while still retaining the stock setup for the door arms.

For the main gear, I had to do some cutting. I had to trim the doors as seen and also had to carve some foam out around the wheels as seen. I dont like how the wheels stick out when they are up but theres no way around that really. Other than that it wasnt as much work as I thought it would be.

I've been building this slowly when I get time and really wanted a more scale F18. The LX F18 was what I originally wanted but didn't want a twin 70mm setup so I went with the exceed rc 90mm version. So I decided to try and add a scale looking tailhook that actual operates. Searched the interwebz and didn't really find anything. The tail hook and servo I used for this are bought from motionrc. The servo is the slat controller from the Freewing T-45 And the tailhook is from the Freewing F-14. It Came out better than I thought it would. Now I just have to try and cover the servo with some sort of material, maybe just tape and paint over with gray....Continue Reading

Well let's see what the hype is on these AXII. Order the beginning of Jan and just got them lol also ordered the stub version of the triumphs, luckily those got here within 2 days
