I used the following parts to make my own "Hawker Sea Fury Sport Power Set FLW20113" that is being sold by Motion RC and installed it:

1) FlightLine 3648-880KV Brushless Motor
2) APC 12x8E Propeller (Dynamically Balanced)
3) Dubro 3" Spinner (Dynamically Balanced)

Using a Roaring Top 4S 3300mAh 70C Lipo (358 grams), I also added 2.25 ounces of flat self-stick ballast weights hidden in the nose section to balance to the recommended CG.

What was already a great warbird is now even better!

This is just me jammin away in my "Dallas Doll" Eflite P-51D Mustang 1.1m wingspan BNF Basic to some Ace Combat 7's OST "Magic Spear" (bonus points for this song hitting just right).

A little backstory on this Dallas Doll. Three years ago, I had driven two hours up north to pick this one up at a private seller's home. Sadly, this Dallas Doll was only flown several times and was then left in the garage to collect dust and some light hangar rash. The seller decided to part with it for $100 to make quick cash towards his upcoming purchase of a Flightline La-7.

This P-51D Dallas Doll needed a little bit of love and attention, but nothing significant that would require an overhaul and surgery. I brought her home and went to work. My intention was to keep this Mustang as one of the few 3S planes I have in my fleet (most of my warbirds are 4s), so I made sure to max out it's performance with some upgrades. The anemic 9.8x6 4-blade stock prop was replaced with a new FMS 10.5x8 4-blade prop. The stock 30a ESC was replaced with a new Skypower 60a ESC w/ 6a SBEC. The airframe was gently cleaned and any hangar rash was refinished and restored. Lastly, the airframe has been double-coated with Minwax Satin-Finish Polycrylic.

It's surprising that I never took a video for this model that I've had for three years, but it was long overdue.. Thanks again Brad for an excellent video capture on your iPhone 6!

I've had this EDF wing for several years now, but it's never had any spotlight time until now. This is absolutely one of my favorite and unique wings that I've kept to myself from social media until my friend Robert decided to record my flight yesterday. The grass was also at the right height and smoothness to attempt a take-off from, as well as a touch and go. Very much to my surprise, both were easy to do, and is another fun/unique feature from this already cool EDF wing.

It's a shame that there aren't many (if at all) of these EDF wings in production anymore. Despite the poor TechOne equipment it came out of the box with (a stock motor lead that had a wire separate on inspection, malfunctioning ESC, and a busted plastic servo), The Neptune is really a brilliant EDF Wing design that comes alive when quality internals are installed. I'm hoping that there will be an EDF wing re-release of something like it from one of the current reputable manufacturers in the future.

The UMX Waco Monoplane Golden Age Fantasy #7 “Lorenz Racer”. Named after David Lorenz, the Regional Park it was born and is currently flown in.

Powered by an Eflite 3S 300mAh 30C Lipo with an Eflite BL180 3000KV Motor / Eflite 5x2.75 Prop combo, and additionally cooled with a custom-painted “Ram Air” Spoon Scoop and Hidden Vented Cockpit Exhaust. A Carbon Fiber Flat Spar is embedded in the main wing for rigidity. All of the old carbon fiber connection wire bits have been sanded and painted over to match the scheme. The old connections to the interplane struts and fuselage joiner have been covered with their original plastics which have been sanded so it looks like it was made that way. I got bored with my slow and lackadaisical UMX Waco and was about to sell it as it is just never flown enough in my fleet. That is, until I saw a few 1930’s Air Racers and got a modding idea to give it a new lease on life. 😈

Eflite UMX Waco Golden Age Fantasy Monoplane Racer Test Flight (3 min 49 sec)

The top wing was gently removed. An 8” .034” x .121” flat carbon fiber flat spar has been inserted in the main wing for rigidity. All of the detailing is complete. All of the old carbon fiber connection wire bits have been sanded and painted over to match the scheme. The old connections to the interplane struts and fuselage joiner have been covered with their original plastics which I sanded so it looks like it was made that way.

The Test Flight was more than successful with the stock Eflite BL180 3000KV Motor. I placed the Turnigy Nano-Tech 2S 300mAh 35C lipo (16 grams) as far back in the internal compartment (just a half inch in front of the AS3X RX) to account for the lack of lift and CG compensation, and it balanced well for neutral handling.

Flight characteristics are quicker and much more responsive, with basic aerobatics, knife edges, inverted flight, and even flat turns. This is now one awesome plane with a unique Gee Bee-esque feel!

Plans to upgrade to an Eflite BL180 3600KV Motor and 120mm X 70mm Tri-Blade Prop are a go.

The UMX Waco Golden Age Fantasy Monoplane Racer is born. ⭐️

Sometimes, I just don't want to bring a bigger plane to the field. Sometimes, I just want to return to my RC roots. And for that reason today is why I chose my old UMX Beast 3D to take to the field.

Purchased in 2014, and the third plane I've ever flown in my fleet. Prior to the UMX Beast 3D, I flew the UMX Champ to teach me basic 3-channel flight.. and later on, the UMX F4U Corsair for 4-channel orientation. I flew those two planes for the first year of flying RC. But in the second year, I took a chance on the UMX Beast 3D. It was my first aerobatic ultra micro. I have a lot of respect for this old biplane as in my earlier RC days, there were a lot of close narrow margin saves while I was still learning its agility (it's too bad that I don't have a flight video of my earlier days with this bipe.. comparing my flights back then, to now would have been something cool to compare). Since then, I've had countless flights with this amazing biplane and it has taught me a lot. I have much to thank it for.

This is a fun demo flight I completed yesterday with my new Twisted Hobbys 29" EPP F-22 Raptor.

This F-22 is unlike any Raptor I've flown.. and I love it! It can be flown scale, or can perform some very outlandish aerobatics with it’s linked aileron-elevator design. Now all it needs is dual rudders to unlock its full 3D / aerobatic potential. That is a future modification coming soon.

Overall, this is probably the most fun F-22 Raptor that I've ever flown!

This is the 3rd flight out of 8 flights today with my new Eflite Ultimate 3D 950mm BNF Basic, all flights flown on 4S.

The Maiden Flight was very uneventful and was used primarily for checking trim, flight control response, as well as flight time / battery capacity measurements. The second flight was used to tune the amount of expo on all of the surfaces. This third flight was all about exploring the flight envelope, as well as control response to a few 3D / aerobatic maneuvers.

If I had to describe what this biplane felt like, it’s like a combination of flying my favorite old UMX of all time - The Eflite UMX Beast 3D, and another similar biplane - The Eflite Viking Model 12 280. This new Eflite Ultimate 3D 950mm BNF Basic is an incredible model that made me feel right at home. With 4S power, wide flight envelope, and floaty characteristics, the Ultimate 3D is a “well-thought out” design with no initial weaknesses that I can find within reason and normal use. This is a model that I will be spending a lot of time with.

I was fortunate enough to win this rare item on eBay a week ago. When I first saw this model 7 years ago at my local hobby shop, I was only a beginner, flying a Hobbyzone Champ, wishing I had the skills to fly it. I had passed it up at the time and had regretted it ever since. 7 years later, I came across this new / old stock on eBay and couldn't pass up the chance to have it in my fleet. I'm pleased to show my next custom RC work - Project Chimera. Callie Graphics pulled through with my custom decals last week and I was finally able to apply them on my project, which is a highly modified 3-year old BlitzRCWorks Deltawing 50mm EDF Jet.

This was a little EDF jet that I picked up from Banana Hobby 3 years ago for $65, and was a surprisingly excellent jet on the stock 3S system. But the stock color scheme was absolutely awful. My friend Brad offered to change the scheme with his airbrush skills, and I accepted his offer.

The overall appearance and high agility represented the Dassault Mirage 2000, so I chose that main scheme. Interesting enough, the side profile also has hints of the F-16 (with its bottom intake scoop and vertical fin), and the turtle deck reminds me of an A-4 - Hence, I nicknamed it the Chimera (the Greek mythical creature which composed of parts from different animals).

The stock 3S system has also been replaced with a 4S setup. A dynamically-balanced XRP 4S 50mm 11-Blade 4200KV Unit has been drop-in fitted, and a ZTW Beatles 40a ESC with 3a SBEC has been installed.

Durability was also a factor. A custom bass wood block has been mounted in the underbelly of the nose section with a curved music wire strake. This Memorial Day, my tribute honoring those who served with valor and cherishing the memories of those who gave everything -- A performance flight of my Arrows RC P-47 Thunderbolt 980mm 4S High-Speed Custom Variant "Silver Lady" flown today.

I actually wasn't planning on getting any flight video, but Robert surprised me when I spotted him halfway through with his iPhone out, recording my last flight of the day with the rest of the guys watching. I think he did very well capturing the Silver Lady in action! 😁

Just to recap this project, I customized the internals of this new Arrows RC P-47 Thunderbolt 980mm to have the exact (or better) schematics of the old FMS 980mm High Speed P-47 Thunderbolt (now discontinued). The stock Arrows RC 3S motor has been replaced with a new beefy FMS 4S 3648-770KV Brushless Outrunner (the motor mount has 2 different mounting points, one for the smaller stock 3S motor, and another set of deeper motor mounting points for the larger 4S 770KV motor.. which confirms that this current Arrows RC P-47 offering was once the FMS High Speed P-47 model), and the stock Arrows RC 40-Amp ESC has also been replaced with a ZTW 85-Amp Mantis with 5-Amp SBEC.

Measured 54.5 Max Static Amps, 855 Watts Power - using an Eflite Power Meter and fully charged Admiral Pro 4S 2200mAh 45C Lipo.

I've finally completed and test flown my Ace Combat Zero Galm 2 "Pixy" Custom on my 2-year old Freewing Lippisch P.15 64mm EDF Jet over the past weekend. This video includes two flights - one in fair weather and one in inclement weather, demonstrating it's tolerance to a wide range of flight conditions. This has easily become the fastest EDF Jet in my fleet (+100mph).. and is still powered by the same Roaring Top 3S 1800mAh 45C lipos that I was originally using with the stock system. With a dry weight of 415 grams and Max Static Amp Draw of 35.5a, the thrust to weight setup is outstanding.
