Here's the maiden flight and crash of the Shrubsmacker...a STOL FT Style plane similar to the larger FT Bushwacker. This plane is actually a Flitetest community design by Grifflyer.

I had forgotten to put the plane back in low rates once I was airborne and overcontrolled it causing it to nose dive. Repairs were pretty minor believe it or not.

Here I am showcasing the Shrubsmacker, a miniature version of Flitetest's Bushwacker. While built using foamboard, this is not a Flitetest foamboard design. It is actually a design by Flitetest community member Grifflyer. The plane also puts you in the mind of the Eflite Timber. The plane can be built with a standard 4 channel setup OR you can add optional flaps.

So I received this foamboard cutout with the FT logo/gremlin in a recent Flitetest speedbuild kit. And I figured, rather than trash this cool creation, lets turn it into a workshop decoration. Added some LED lights equipped with a remote (only $11 on Amazon). So here it is...

My response to the FAA's Remote ID proposal. I decided to take the approach of telling the world, the FAA, and whoever wants to listen what it is I do in the hobby. There are so many different avenues of RC flight (drones/quadcopters, FPV, helicopters, fixed wing/RC planes, gliders, etc) that I felt it was good to explain what it is I do in the hobby and how much I enjoy it. Like others, I think some of those that are making these rules and regulations don't really understand what it is that we do. So I hope this helps folks understand the hobby a little better (at least my part of it) and how these rules and regulations could affect myself and others.

I came across this early on with myself but many other new folks starting out with Flitetest airplanes. Why doesn't my FT plane look as good as the FT videos? The finished product has wrinkles in the foam...or my bevel cut is not as good...and the list goes on. Fact of the matter... these are planes built using $1 foamboard. They are cheap and disposable. They are going to get abused, crashed, and everything else. So, don't worry. Just do the best you can with it, fix her up, and fly it! Those little imperfections don't matter...as long as it flies and that you have fun with it.

Hadn't shared any new videos here for a little while, so here's an update....

Finally gave the KFM Wing a maiden flight. This my first ever time trying out a flying wing. Got a few balance issues to work out, but she successfully flew.
