I have a new piece for the program under development to assist in sales to non-English speaking countries. I am confident that everyone active here understands English well enough to run the program, but does not want to deliver Quotes and Invoices in English to clients who speak Spanish, or French, etc. I am working on a translation display that will allow you to change the report title, column headers, and footers to the language of your choice. It shows the current value, with an explanation, and allows you to enter what you would prefer to have print at that position.

I am also reviewing some 3rd party tools that I can build into the program. These would allow designing your own reports based on a starting point I would provide. These allow control of fonts, point sizes, and color so the more creative types here could produce very nice reports.

One other thing I am reviewing is an embedded HTML editor. I have mentioned this before, but the one I am looking at now would also allow designing newsletters and brochures. These could be as elaborate as you wanted, with the ability to place images into the document. Other things being worked on include the ability to output reports to PDF so they can be attached to email and sent directly from the program. Lots of stuff in progress.

I am editing this a bit, I am new to blogging and did not realize the links would not automatically carry over. This software will manage a radio controlled aerial photography business, and can be reviewed at

There is a new version of the program available now. I have made a few enhancements in the area of Equipment reporting. The Equipment tracking and reporting was one of the main reasons I wrote the program, intending to keep close track of all of the equipment usage, maintenance, and damage. The web site is

I have put up a new version of the program on the web site. The program now includes Scheduled Date and Scheduled Time entries for your Jobs. The Date may be selected from a Scheduled Jobs Calendar, showing you how many jobs you have scheduled for any given date. When setting the time you may display the jobs currently scheduled for that date to make sure you do not book two for the same time. The download file is in place on the site, I do need to update the text on the News page to reflect the changes.

The site is The demo version runs for up to 30 days to give you a chance to evaluate all of the functions.

A new version is now on the site with the addition of the Parts Bin. This is called from the Equipment display and is intended to track the parts you would normally keep on hand for maintenance and normal wear and tear. It tracks purchases by date and by vendor, and updates the on hand quantity. The usage is tied to the maintenance entry display and will decrement the on hand quantity for each part selected. There is also a Parts Bin report by date range with the option of including purchases, usage, or both. All items will be listed but the purchases and usage will be printed by the date range. Questions and comments may be sent to [email protected], the site is

The 3rd and hopefully final beta update of RCAPtures has been sent to the beta testers. If all goes well I should be able to activate my website by mid-December and begin marketing. The download will be a full functioning copy of the program set to run for up to 30 days. If it meets your needs you purchase and I send the unlock code and the program continues to run. Everything you have entered stays in use so you don't lose any of the work you entered to evaluate the program.

The program is intended to manage an RC Aerial Photography business but does have some other use. If you operate a commercial UAV operation this program would be very useful. It will manage your clients and contacts, manage your jobs and pricing, and allow you to send out quotes and invoices.

In addition it will manage your equipment, tracking your usage and damage. It will allow you to create a schedule of maintenance for selected equipment and notify you when usage triggers maintenance due. It will also allow you to enter other maintenance as needed, at any time. There are several reports that may be run by date range to show usage, maintenance, and damage.

The final piece is your consumables, to include fuel purchases and usage, and to track battery usage and recharging.

Feel free to pm any questions or suggestions.

The beta testing continues and is going well. I have a new beta tester coming in soon from Canada, he will verify the work I am doing now will allow the program to run in the UK countries. I am setting this so the numeric entries will format correctly. That beta version should go out by the end of the week, I am hoping to activate the website and go on sale within about 6 weeks. The program will be available for download as a fully functioning 30 day demo which then unlocks when purchased. More later.

This is an early mention of some software I have in beta testing. There are two products coming, one for the aerial photography market but also one geared towards everyone with RC aircraft.

The aerial photography package will manage the business side of operations. It will manage your clients, contacts, and jobs. Within this you may define standard pricing packages to use on your quotes and invoices. This package will also track your consumables.

A second major part of the program will be pulled out for the general RC market. This will manage your equipment, tracking usage, damage, and maintenance. You will be able to define scheduled maintenance as well as enter maintenance as needed. This system will track your flight time and flag any scheduled maintenance a given flight will bring up. In addition I am tracking fuel purchases and usage, and tracking purchases of batteries and their charges. The fuel and battery usage can be associated with an individual flight and airframe.

This program has been in beta testing at three sites for a bit over a week now and I expect to release the aerial photography package in late November, to be called RCAPtures. I haven't come up with a name for the RC package as yet but plan to release that in December. My web site is not yet active but the email accounts are, you may send questions to [email protected] and I will send a response. There is an overview document available on request that covers the aerial photography program, but the RC package will be a subset of that so you will be able to look at the equipment sections to get an idea of what is in this.

In November I will start a thread in the aerial photography forum to announce it is available. and in December I will start some threads in the other forums.
