Maiden flights of the Vic Smeed Pulstar today.
Rudder & throttle control only. With a bit more right thrust & some trimming it'll be ready to fly single channel on the button.

After two years we’re back out in the NorthWest. Today is a blur. Most of us had gone to bed at midnight, gotten up at 4:30AM and then spent almost all day flying across the country. By the time we had rounded up our rental cars and reached Hood River it was 5PM and we only had a couple hours of light left. We elected to head to The Dalles slope. It was close and easily accessible by car. The wind was whipping at 30mph and Tom swore he felt a gust twice that amount as we reached the site. DJ pulled out his combat wing. Amadeo his Electron. Tom and Ben had their Gulps. Jose and I elected to take pics. The air was a little to strong and turbulent for unleaded foamies. After an hour, with fading sunlight, we packed up and headed down to Clock Tower Ales for some IPA’s and good grub.
As I write this, Tom and I discussed the best slope(s) for tomorrow. With a 20mph wnw wind we think we’ll hit Lumber.

Just having another fun build stretching a 250mm (approx. 9") frame using T6 Aluminum to 12 inches platform. Only the CF frame was replaced and all the VQ250 components are being used.

Not much to say and I can't complain the way it's flying and with 3 switch mode on my TARANIS PLUS , it can fly straight horizontally on fast forward flight for racing and can switch back to a normal quad if needed.

Spirit 600 flying wing from Fasttech $20 USD shipped - https://www.fasttech.com/p/7327502
Hot SKY3025 2.5g Micro Servo off Ebay $4.19 each
4ch Frsky Rx from Banggood - https://www.banggood.com/2_4G-4CH-Mi...r_warehouse=CN
6 amp ESC off Ebay
Motor from GB - https://www.gearbest.com/motor/pp_11...ml?wid=1433363

The goal - to build a 100 gram RTF flying wing ( Or better )
Yes - just completed it ..

Pic 1
Pic 2 The completed Wing

Both ESC and Rx were fitted to the side of the fuse with double sided foam tape + a zip tie
Servos were hot glued into the wing
Pic 3 / Pic 4
The wing tips and control hardware did add weight where it was not wanted , behind CG ..
I still have not installed the propeller , and the 250 mAh 2s battery just , and I mean just balances at CG ..
Weight without the prop and with the battery was ....
Damned close to 90 grams = 90.5 grams ( less Prop )
So I dare say I made it past 100 grams with room to spare .

I may have to buy some slightly larger 2s batteries , maybe 350 mAh ...
Wonder what I have in the battery box ?

Picture 1 :
Put some lines on the wing ( CG ) as well for servo placement .

Picture 2 :
I cut the tabs off the servos , made some holes in the wing and set up the servos

Picture 3 :
Before I glue the servos in , it would be nice to know they work , well that everything works .

Picture 4 :
Wing has been Epoxy glued to the fuse , servos hot glued into the wing , servo leads buried into the wing along the CG

All that's needed now is to put in the Rx , connect elevons to the servos , glue on the tips , and hope that everything balances far enough forward to use a nice small 2s battery . ( Oh and the self imposed weight limit of 100 Grams RTF )

Looking for new lines in the Bando 🏟️ The Graffiti always makes the 🎥 interesting.

🏟️ Graffiti Bando Finding New Lines 🎥 Session 5 Full FPV Freestyle Run (5 min 41 sec)

The Quelima SQ12 camera performed well again in the bando handling the light indoors and outdoors. However, the Graffiti looks pretty nice and colorful with the CMOS FPV camera and the frame rate is better. The ViFly R130 is a tough beast and has survived all the crashes with the help from some more black tape.

Did a little work on my Robocats. Installed an Omnibus F4 Pro in yellow one and changed color scheme to purple. Also added a new camera and VTX. Still running Betaflight on it. Just minor maintenance, and decals on the canopy.

GREATEST MINI DRONE EVER !! Xiaomi MITU Mini Drone (11 min 56 sec)

Xiaomi MiTu Drone, also known as Mi Mini Drone or Rabbit is one of the most beautiful mini drones ever, much better than DJI Ryze Tello thanks to many factors: first, not negligible is that it costs almost half the price of Tello: it can be purchased from RCMOMENT for less than 60€ with coupon code A9783 - http://shrsl.com/xrbs
Tello has a camera much more stabilized but many people complains about images full of mosaics, while the Mitu Mini Drone, once video has been recorded, can be stabilized in post production, obtaining excellent results.

Link to RAW file: https://goo.gl/2pKRnk

DJI RYZE TELLO is limited by software at a flight height of 10 meters: XIAOMI MITU MINI DRONE can reach 25 meters in height. The best selling point is that Xiaomi MiTu drone, can also be controlled via Bluetooth controller like the classic Playstation joypad. Not a real BNF drone but a complete RTF by matching the bluethoot controller. The two downsides of the Mitu Mini Drone compared to DJI Ryze Tello are the lack of fun flight modes like bounce mode, 360 mode and 2.0MP camera instead of 5.0MP which is equipped with the Ryze Tello: with half of the price, I think anyone can easily live without that! Finally, Xiaomi MiTu Mini Drone known as Rabbit is a very small piece of technology, full of sensors and laser for battle gaming, perfect for flying indoors and outdoors in the absence of wind, with an excellent camera capable of recording video at 720p and storing them in the internal 4 GB memory. Yep Les Amis,
Beau Gosse Tout-Terrain, lol !

Picture 1 :
Just test running the motor to make sure everything is still ok .

Picture 2 :
ESC ( 6A ) has been mounted with double sided tape and a zip tie , as far forward as I can get it without stressing the motor leads .

Picture 3 :
Motor is screwed into place , hmmm two more screws or not ? ( I will run it some with the prop and see if the screws come lose )
Some super glue on the threads should hold the screws in place .

So I am on my way to trying to build a 100 gram RTF wing .. ( Lighter would be better )

Fixing the camber spread the tire wear over a larger area in the center but introduced bigger problems. It significantly reduced the range because of the higher rolling resistance & made the servo skip cogs because of the increased rolling resistance. Went back to the stock camber which wore down the inner edges & searched for a coating to resist the wear.

The solution was to glue fabric straps to the inner edges with E6000 adhesive. After hundreds of miles, they didn't wear off & the power consumption dropped to 280mAh/mile. Initially, the straps were common shoelaces, but kevlar would be the ultimate strap. The key is getting the strap to cover the entire wear pattern. If wear hits a strap edge, it'll peel off.

Earlier coatings were white electrical tape & CA glue, which instantly wore off. E6000 adhesive without fabric seemed to wear off.

One of the early issues I found with X10S are the switch locations are different. Normally I use the back left momentary switch on my Graupner MZ-24 for telemetry. On the X10S that switch is on the right side. So after deciding what to do I felt it's best to move the switches around so my two main radios have the same switch layout.

A larger issue I noticed was the location of the rear switches. I don't know what Frsky was thinking but the average person cannot reach those switches unless you slide your hand up which is awkward while flying. I decided to drill some new holes and relocate the switches closer the edge of the case.

Here's a quick video:
