Just a quick built F22... 21 inch wingspan... Cut the plans out, traced them on the foam and cut the pieces out. All done this afternoon. Power is a 1350 Kva motor turning a 6x4 APC Prop with a 30 amp ESC on a 3 cell Lipo. Should move along nicely!

Plans are for a Nano F22 that I blew up to 400%

Boycott Traxxas

wait... what... why on earth would anyone ever want to boycott one of the largest most influential R/C companies on the planet???

Let's take a step back in time to see where Traxxas was founded back in 1986 by Jim Jenkins and David Katz. Traxxas is credited for introducing the concept of a RTR and bringing the Short Course class into R/C among many other cool concepts.

In contrast of amazing contributions that Traxxas has made in growing the industry, they have grown into a completely different company from what they once were and have morphed into a "Patent Troll" who is focused on destroying their competition which is now killing the industry as we know it. So what is the definition of a patent troll and what sorts of things has Traxxas done to categorize them this way, I've highlighted key actions that Traxxas is guilty of doing here:

1) Baseless Claims - I need to do more research because Traxxas has filed too many baseless claims to keep track of them all, but I will point out 2 key events that have dramatically impacted the industry. First was around 2014 when Traxxas sued HPI for patent infringement by using a rubber seal to copy their idea for a "waterproof Rx box". Keep in mind that HPI legally reverse engineered the design and came up with a new shape/geometry with no direct copy molds. In theory this case should've been thrown...Continue Reading

I often find Classical music relieves the BS of all the nonsense that occurs in our lives. TT is cursed with negative energy. I hope this link will provide some positive energy. Beethoven composed this in the years that he was facing deafness.

Not completed yet. Soon will be. Weight around 13-14 oz. New Big Mig Norvel .074 for pulling duty. Should be a little quick...Ok, it's finished! AUW is 14.3 oz. with a 6 cell 260 maH NiMH battery. Looking forward to the maiden after engine break-in. I will get video and post on YT for those interested. This plane has been maidened plus one one. As I suspected, it's a very fast flyer and highly acrobatic. Drop launches with ease and pulls out fast in a rolling vertical if asked to do so! It's not as pitch sensitive as I was thinking either. Engine off glide is fast but managable, you just have to keep the nose down until the flare for landing (predictable for this type of plane), all in all, a good bit of fun in a small fast package. Video as soon as I can get someone to do it for me.

Here are two models based on the Lynx OXY-3.

The OXY-3 is built as the 255mm version.

The OXY-X Speed Qube (pronounced Ten) is a fantasy chopper based on the OXY-3 Speed shell with the Qube (triple) head and tail combo.

I say fantasy as she is built at 2m length with a turbo engine. One can dream?

They can be downloaded here.

Worst Aosenma I ever bought CG037

Here are my observations from my first test flight: 10 min.
I did not fly above about 50 ft. or horizontal distance beyond 200 ft. The test only lasted about 8 to 10 minutes. Very unstable. It wobbled a lot & almost clashed.
I used vast software and checked the controller & data screens. Calibration of Gyros & compass was out wack so I did a VAST calibration on both. Prior to this, before my first practice flight I did a complete manual quad & controller calibration. I also adjusted “flight” settings. Not within reasonable test values so I adjusted to the values below for close range operation for my next test. I also noted the software version & settings were identical to my CG035. Not good as the CG037 is a bigger bird etc. So Aosenma did not do flight testing & adjustment.

Return height: 45 Max height: 40 Max Range: 150

Here are my observations from my second test flight: 15Mins.
This time there was a bit of wind but no more than 3 mph. Consequently, I deemed safe to fly as I’ve flown my CG035s in similar conditions without any problems. I flew around close range for a few minutes in “GPS/altitude hold” mode, but still being a bit unstable I decided to venture a bit higher and farther out.

I then switched to “normal” mode for a few minutes. All seemed to be functioning OK. But when I flew a bit higher, the quad started to wobble, so I switched back to “GPS” mode. The...Continue Reading

I decided to sell my previous corsair and build a new and improved one.
This one is bigger (1300mm), more scale (retracts, plastic parts for scale details, etc), and with a solid wing and fuselage which makes it a bit heavier but significantly sturdier.
The result was great, she flies awesome and looks the part up in the air and also taxiing on the ground.

Yep Les Amis,

Sky Speaker-I Drone Megaphone Review (6 min 39 sec)

Sky Speaker-I is a megaphone designed for SUAS,can be installed on multirotor and fixed wing platforms.Based on digital wireless transmission technology,it can play recorded sound sources and do real-time broadcasting. In this case,it will be very helpful in missions like rescue, search, fire fighting, police negotiation etc.

Compared with normal analog signal transmission based megaphone,Sky Speaker-I uses advanced digital voice coding technology, which enable the speaker to avoid analog sound disturbing in the air.

Sky Speaker-I has 2 working modes: play SD card recorded sound and real-time broadcasting. You are able to switch the modes easily on handheld intercom.Another big feature for Sky Speaker-I is its lightweight design, simple structure and small size, which makes the drone to carry it easily and fly with low resistance in the air.

1)Lightweight design,only 500grams for speaker
2)All-in one structure and small size, easy for installation and low air resistance
3)Based on digital voice coding technology, can get super clear voice and prevent disturbing from analog voice sources
4)2 work modes:recorded sound play and real-time broadcasting.Easy switch
5)Internal magnetic speaker,do not affect drone geomagnetic field
6)Anti-squeal design
7)Super clear and high strength sound, great penetrability

I got a used, new to me, Blade 250 CFX today!

It looks like a fine step up from my sub-micro Blade 130S.

It seems to be working well after inspection & systems test. Main Motor seems a bit wobbly (? cheep) but otherwise i like it so far. It has some real power & awesome sound

I'll look further into the sloppy motor issue-it may be OK or may need servicing. We'll see...
The tail blade needs replacement soon but is okay for now. It looks bent but not torn, so i'll be easy on it. I bet my lhs has spare tail blades

This 250 CFX came with a spare Main Gear & two orange Microheli plastic Main Blades! Perfect.
The stock Carbon Fiber Main Blades are a bit fancy for me. I'll enjoy them later after i get more experience & stop crashing so often

The seller thankfully double-boxed the 250--its stock box looks dang new. I'm impressed. Hope to maiden soon, been windy down here in Texas.

Good day y'all

I will be using the struts because on the rigorous test flights without them I have found compression wrinkles on the top wing just beyond where the spar ends and the flap area begins. This is a stress riser due to the servo cutout area. The wrinkle is invisible until the wing tip is picked up. If a longer spar were used out to within 8 inches or so of the wingtip then there would no buckling. Horizon has no Maule spars for spares. So a substitute will be researched. Until then the struts will be used.

Plywood wing spar mod:

I cut out plywood wing spars with dimensions of 1/16” thick by 24 mm deep by 470 mm long. Each spar weighs 12 gms compared to each V strut that weighs 19 gms (w/o screws). The wing maximum depth is 30 mm so there is 6 mm between the spar and top of the wing.
