2012 was a great year for me! I got back into the hobby for the first times since leaving for college in 2003. So many things have changed for the better, and I discovered quickly that 3DHS and EF have taken 3d ARFs to a level I could only have imagined back in 03!

I started off with 3 Extreme Flight birds but ended up selling 2 edges and an extra after I realized how much I loved the slick! I owned a 42, 51, 70, 71, and 89 slick all in one season. My love for this hobby also led me to start custom vinyl projects this year. While I may have sold off all me EF planes, don't worry, I have a few in the works!

When Wamsy convinced me to go to the Knoxville huckfest, I had no idea it would ignite an addiction so strong!

While December was full of my real job and exactly 0 flights on any balsa, I did make it to Chicago to see my family, friends, and to pick up my 89 slick! Here's a quick picture from the first few days of the build. ..

Thanks to all the friends I've met in 2012, and I hope to meet many more in 2013!

I aquired a 70" Slick from Diggity that I've been eyeing for a while now! It was originaly from the first 3dhs garage sale owned by Bivens, so this puppy has some history!

I've been obsessed with my 51" slick and have been dying to get one of these for myself! Here's a few pics of the maiden, absolutely in love with this plane. Hands down my favorite, no questions asked!

Also keep your eyes peeled, I will be doing some vinyl schemes on a garage sale 58" Edge and a 71" Slick. Those NIB frames will be for sale sometime in the near future. Who's gonna get em!?

Currently hanging up in my theater:

60" Extreme Flight Edge EXP (Shipping)
60" Extreme Flight Extra EXP (Frame only)
48" Extreme Flight Edge EXP (SOLD)
42" 3DHS AJ Slick
32" Twisted Hobbies Crack Yak

I've had a bit more stick time on all three planes. The crack yak has dramatically helped my stick reaction time. I am more easily keeping control and easily reacting to sticky situations with all the low altitude practice I've been doing. It's also helpful to burn a few packs off at dusk in my backyard. The wind dies down and I get a few minutes to run outside.

The 48" Edge has been really improving my skills. I've been concentrating on harriers a lot on the sims and have been bringing this out on the Edge at the field. Was able to harrier around the runway just feet off the ground with the edge, even managed to do 3 harrier landings. They were my first harrier landings on a balsa, and this was on a paved runway so it was a bit risky for me!

The 60" has been superb, it's so smooth flying and it's really caused me to work on my straight lines and smooth transitions. It's also my go to plane for rolling harrier practice. Sim time has gotten me comfortable executing these at the field, and so far I can do it with all my planes, but this one does it the smoothest.

It's been a good few months, my flying has really progressed. I'm able to execute many maneuvers I previously could not. Now it's just a matter of practicing and...Continue Reading

I will be taking a break from flying and constantly checking my phone for updates to get married to my best friend next week in the rainforest of Puerto Rico... I had to wait a few years before I told her about this hobby, but fortunately for me, she knows I will never pick up ladies at the flying field so she's ok with it!
Thanks baby!

The EF Extra is up and running, and easily is the best plane I have ever flown in this size without a doubt! It does the straight lines so crisp and so fast, yet slows down and does the 3d with the best of them! Combine that with some excellent customer service at EF, and I'm extremely happy with this purchase!
