JHH Skyray Short Kit
Well, I have a fuse with no formers and a wing with no mounting locations.
Just a note this is not the 70mm version so I'm in the right location. I did manage to get my hands on some former drawings that I've recreated so I could move the landing gear location as I may only use traditional no rotating gear and move the gear in more to hide the wheels in the fuselage. Well just thoughts, here are a few of the drawings of the formers so far. I'll test fit them to the fuselage that I have that is just an empty hull at this point so another project hits the bench. I'll see if I can lighten it up a bit not sure if it is possible as I will make sure the trimmers are active.

I'm thinking I will use a high-power 90mm or 100mm fan for this Ray

Well still working the form of my Kangaroo and my nacelle. Itís been a bit of fill and sanding but coming along. Wings are almost ready for prime as Iím doing a few touch ups on the skin. Then Iíll prime and need to start to commit to my paint scheme.

Well taking the nacelle back to the glass that I started with a long time ago. Well plan to sand smooth and prime up and use again.

Stripping down my Kangaroo jet and preparing for a new design paint scheme. It has worn the Hartman scheme for some time but now looking for something more glossy and shiny to look at.

Iím going to use the silver bullet as inspiration.

Well just getting the Bonaza to its initial stages of finish sanding with prime applied. Still need to to the top of the wing but can really start the finish sanding that it necessary to get the paint flowing. This will be built as electric debating if I use a geared motor or go to a large brushless outrunner. Be using my trusty Castle Creations ESC on this 10 or 12s depending on motor combo. Using robart retract air, and Futaba for guidance.

Well have tail and ducting in place. Also glued the ducting to the front intakes. Wiring for servo is in order. Just need to fashion a small bulkhead for canopy attachment and start thinking about cg. Need to get some pilots or go bare? Still need to install nose steering. All horns have been installed, used 1/2a sized horns as the stock ones seem a little to light for my liking.

Starting another build of a 90mm Hawk. Just putting the ducting together and ready for some carbon tow.

Well, I'll start on the P-38 from Legend models, putting in some Robart electric gear the 630 series. First I start off with some of the images of where I'm at this moment. The landing gear installation required me having to fish in some bind nuts with a cable after drilling out the holes and then press in blind nuts and screw in to compress into the wood a little tight in the nose gear area for my hands. The flap system is unique on this model. The controls were installed per the manual on that.

Well had a chance to get out and fly today with my kids at the Wings Over Prado event held at PVMAC. There was a good amount of scale aircraft present. Many of the EDF locals were present. I did manage to see Rich F-4 fly, as well as Brent and his huge F-15 photos don't do it justice. Brian had a TJ A-4 on hand, and Chris Wolfe had the Mirage III with him that is very nice. Chris also had the JHI A-7 on a 90mm and it flew very well. Myself I stuck to the JHI Fury and did all my flights with this great bird on a 90mm Jet Fan system. Winds at time were very interesting and challenging but that didn't stop most. Later in the day the rain said hello and most at that time packed up. Well here are a few images of the event for those who were unable to attend.

Best Regards,
Jeff...Continue Reading

Just acquired another TamJet A-4 Skyhawk. This one I've changed a few minor things but such as fan and receiver battery. Before it was using a Dynamax with big scream motor and also using Lithion Ion type batteries.

Well I was doing a little annual work I redid the plumbing and also some of the wiring for the new fan. A Dynamax was used but with a Neu motor. This new configuration saved 2 lbs AUW. So will see how this does with the performance of the model.

Unlike my other A4 this one is fitted with the EDF intakes which have a much smoother radius. My other model has the more turbine like intakes which are sharp. So I hope that I'll be able to see and hear the differences in flight.

Here is one in flight from the past. Will see how this one will do once I'm able to get some video.

Well if you looking to get started in Multicopters or dare I say it "Drones" make sure when you go to your local retailer to ask to see the M470 from Align. This Multicopter packs in many features right out of the box. The Combo version shown here comes with the G2 gimbal. Need help finding a local retailer, call Assurance R/C for one in your area.

Well I had the opportunity to go out an enjoy the day with some friends and do some flying. Brought out some of my airplanes and also got to see a few of my friends new birds. A couple of maidens. Last flight of the day was a shake down of my old Tam A-4 which flew great. Well no photos of it since I was the camera guy today.

Using my 2.8 80-200 manual focus!

The planes shown are Bob, Rich and some of my own as well. Great day but getting a little on the hot side....Continue Reading

Well here is a much closer to done F-16 than when I first started. Well it will be ready for a maiden here shortly. Simply need to add flat spots on all gear locations with grub screws.

Rich will just have to add batteries for RX and his choice of 8 or 10s on the fan system. CG based on batteries used and he is ready to give it a go....Continue Reading
