This is a fast 1-day trip for anyone residing in So Cal. The terrain is so unusual, its as if you are in another country: https://www.nps.gov/chis/planyourvisit/anacapa.htm.

Of interest special here, on the other side of the island is Inspiration Point, about a 30/45 -minute walk from the port of entry. This is the million dollar view of other inaccessible islands due to very steep terrain. (Hint, bring your own small folding-chair it will make you stay on the island much more enjoyable). As I was enjoying the view from Inspiration Point, numerous birds were soaring the cliffs. As the sky cleared and the sun started heating the dark volcanic surfaces, the rising heat with sea breeze resulted in more and more of these creatures enjoying what they do best. (And here I am in hot So Cal with a motor, the birds must be laughing).

At one point, the birds headed straight for me with so much speed, they didnt even need to flap their wings. Its worth visiting this island, only need 1 day to do it!

This morning, I drove out to El Dorado park in Long Beach. Arrival time was 12:10pm. I brought my V-tail + aileron Renny Electric (2meter) and had a few flights along side a couple hand launch pilots. The field looked very different, but this is because I was on the other side of the field where the main flying stage is located. Last time out was when I lost my AVA electric.

My setup this afternoon was the original Hacker BL20-18 motor with 4:1 gearbox and "smallish" Aeronaut folding prop. The dimensions marked on the propeller are worn out, but this combo has terrible climb performance on a 2-cell 1350 lipo. So after I came home, I swapped out my "smallish" Aeronaut prop for the 11x8 Graupner folding prop. One of the guys at the field knew a lot about electric motor systems and recommended a lower cell count means a larger prop can be used. I do not remember exactly why I installed a smaller prop years earlier. I was primarily flying 3 cells at the time. It might have had something to do with the spinner hardware coming lose due to too much torque, at least this is my memory. But with 2 cells, the torque is less. We will see how this works out.

Also my radio program did more than I realized. The coordination between tail and ailerons can be turned off, but this requires using the throttle stick as rudder. Something I never got into. I know you think I'm likely talking about the Top Flite P-47 Eileen. but this is an older H9 P-47 painted and detailed as the Eileen scheme. I picked this up last month from a fellow rcg'er in South Florida along with a nice GP Stearman.

They both had gas engines which were replaced with electric set-ups. The P-47 has an Axi 4130/20 with a Castle 90a esc on a 6s 5000 lipo. I was able to cut a hatch and make a tray that allows the lipo to go all the way forward up to the firewall and just balances the plane. The prop is a 17x8 and I'm ordering a prop nut for it this evening, to replace the one which was on the OS .91 and doesn't fit my Axi...

This was the fourth time flying it and it feels much more easier than the previous few flights. It didn't need much initial trim and seems to handle very well so far, just like people have said about this plane. Landings are easy and the gear has been solid far.

I'm usually the last person to fly the field in the evening, so I got the chance to do some photos out on the runway. I've been wanting this plane for a good while and am glad to have it. Thanks Rob, I promise I'll get the Stearman together soon...

Whilst the TEVO tornado is a FANTASTIC 3D Printer, it is lacking a bit of the features more recent 3D Printers have, plus it needs a lot of 'upgrades' done to make it even better - or maybe, to make truly good in total. Though for sure you could use it just it comes.
Even though I would 'recommend it as a great buy in cost, what you get, and result, there is the Artillery Sidewinder for not a lot more cost but with quite a lot more features of great use. It is the same basic design/type as the TEVO Tornado, just better.

So for a 300x300x400 size 3D printer, look at the Artillery Sidewinder !!

Anycubic Chiron
The Chiron is a 400x400x450 size 3D Printer = BIG !!!!
Whilst the Tornado size is quite large and does pretty well anything you usually would want to, SOME things reach those size limits.
But I had two other main reasons to get the Chiron....

All the new FEATURES on more recent 3D Printers.

Like a TFT TOUCH Screen control panel.
Filament Sensor.
Auto Filament insertion and removal.
Ultrabase heatbed surface.
Dual Z axis motors.
Power system UNDER the unit - not a box beside it.
Automatic Bed Leveling.

And..... after changing the Tornado to a E3DV6 hotend, I could not get the 'part cooling' system - fan and ducting - to work PROPERLY, no matter what I did. This reduces the printing quality - more so on any 'overhangs' and bridging. I spent a lot of time on trying to get it to work, and then decided TIME is money.... and a new bigger Printer, with more features, is of use too... so....

The Chiron is BIG !!! It dwarfs the Tornado!

And unfortunately Anycubic are not quite as 'polished' as TEVO.... and Artillery (Sidewinder) being way above those two also!!
There are some things you have to 'do right' to get it set up properly - more than they outline/claim in the Manual.....

If you are building a Yellow Aircraft F-14. and missing Plans, I have the build manuel and full size plans in PDF.

I was talking to some RC Group members and saw a lot of unbuilt and half built F-14's due to lack of info and plans.
I have some sheets plans to the Avonds F-14. Maybe someone out there can post what I have missing or post the hole set and help get some of the unbuilt F-14 air-born.
I tried adding the PDF's and JPG's but the files are way to large. They are full size plans.

Un INCONTOURNABLE ! Je test aujourd'hui le EMAX TinyHawk S ... Un des seuls dfauts du premier TinyHawk c'tait certainement le manque de puissance pour voler en extrieur et effectuer des figures ... Problme rsolu avec le "S", non seulement vous pourrez vous initier en 1S, trankilou, en indoor, mais vous pourrez galement voluer dans la discipline en 2S et profil 2, en outdoor, grce sa puissance et sa stabilit. Une volution trs intelligente de la part de EMAX qui a su ajouter juste ce qu'il faut un engin qui avait fait ses preuves. I saw some video and thought how interesting / fun it looked .
So after a search I found one on FEE-Bay for $66 Ozzi Bananas ..
That's pretty much 2 packets of sig's here in Oz . ( Around $1 each death stick )
And I promised myself I would not buy more models ( Till Christmas )

All controls were set to stock throws and settings. The elevator setting was neutral and I did not set the elevator down as shown on page 10. Takeoff was from asphalt into a 3 mph headwind using high rates with flaps up and SAFE Off. On downwind No trim was required so turned SAFE On. Tested the recommended flap settings and they worked fine with full or no power. Despite my previous concerns with asymmetric thrust there was NO Rudder required to maintain heading throughout the throttle curve. I did use more rudder for coordinated turns but found an aileron to rudder mix for scale like flying. The center section flaps really allow slow takeoffs and approaches. But with full power and full up elevator she accelerates at a 90 degree angle! At straight and level with max power I saw no aileron or roll oscillation. (On other 60 -70 mph models Ive switched to the V900 RX to eliminate roll oscillation). With power off and full flaps and full up elevator there was no abrupt stall or tip stall. With full aileron added a gentle spiral of 3 or 4 turns was tested. Recovery is quick and easy by releasing sticks and adding power. I was having too much fun doing slow scale like touch and goes to do any extreme aerobatics and will test that out on another day.

I noticed that she does not want to slow down on landing roll out and I almost went off the runway pavement end 2 times! I could put Aerostar 60 amp RVS speed controls in for reverse thrust but I dont want to give up the ramp/...Continue Reading

Miss Geico 36 "Haulin' the mail" @ 97.5mph ALL STOCK with dasboata props! Fought the wind all day and still not ideal conditions and only got 97.5mph. No BIG motors needed here Brothers.....Lol! Thanks to Chris Hoffmann for the AWESOME set of props!
