Random shots of my current Mefisto build. For something different, I decided on a weathered "Barn Find" look with a dab of carbon fiber.

Picked up this from Aloft Hobbies Pretty impressive for the price....
Wing is only 10mm at the thickest, so it requires 8mm servos. The new 6mm KST's would probably be the best choice. I'm using some 9mm Bluebird's. (BMS 115-HV) They fit the supplied servo frames but are just a tiny bit tall for the servo covers.

I've been watching the development of this plane built by Mike Fransden in Encinitas, California for a while and decided to put in a down payment about 2 months ago. Well, about 10 days ago I got "The Call" from Mike telling me my plane was just about ready. He asked me about the trim colors and told me he would install the servos, so I sent him a pair of KST X10/710's. The plane is now here and it's a work of art. It's a pitcheron so it only requires 2 servos, breaks down easily for transport and requires no tools for assembly at the flying site. If you happen to fly slope (or even if you don't) and haven't run across the thread check out the development on this American made plane. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...wing-prototype

I picked this kit up around Christmas. Probably manufactured in the late ninety's. It was advertised as "Never Built" but should have said "Started, screwed up a few things, then returned to box". Rudder post was installed incorrectly at an angle so when lined up the rudder the bottom hinge didn't reach the post. The control rods in the fuse were installed, but the one for the rudder had a big curve in it right before the exit and the inner sleeve for the elevator was missing. (Luckily, I had a replacement in stock.) I repaired the issues and moved on. Ordered some graphics from Callie Graphics and spoilers from Esprit. The graphics are are great and Esprit as usual shipped quickly. Here's a few shots of the build and what it should look like when finished. (More or less ) More later.........

PW-51 cores,1 .75 oz. cloth with 1/32 balsa over, lost foam fuse, live hinged. Fuse slides over wing so no need for a hatch.... Covered with Ultracote I had laying around. Built for frontside and medium DS. Probably around 15-16 oz. balanced. (I'll find out tomorrow)

After 20 years of collecting dust I decided to make this my winter project. Broken off (and missing) wing tip (now fixed), broken and missing formers, missing float tip and instruction manual and my shop assistant lacks focus..... but I must be a glutton for punishment. Air frame is mostly Spruce so it's still in pretty good shape. Adding flaps and individual servos for ailerons. This is going to be interesting....I think this is going to involve some TLAR building techniques.....

Picked up a NOS CR fuse here on RCG, had a friend cut some cores. This is the end product, perfect for some light to medium air, lazy afternoon slope fun.

Does anyone have some information on this plane? I know it's a.... Originally a slope kit. Updated from a Cobalt 05 to a Turnigy Glider Drive, I've had this plane for about 20 years. The thing is bulletproof! Flies like it's on rails....
