Ya I know, I like V-tails...

The one with the A123's is the RR one I had. The motor or the esc went south so I had to put the cheapy china motor to use .
I just got to fly the upgraded Brushless RR EZ* and it was GREAT! No vertical But good none the less.

This is the equipment.

Hobby City Stuff:

So I have had this glider sitting around collecting dust! So I decided to finish it. Here it is in all its glory! I got in a maiden flight today and broke the Gorilla Glue loose on the tail, so I am going to glue it back together and try the AP soon.

Well, glued it back together and tied it tight with spiderwire around the tail CF spars. Gonna crop the tail a little bit soon to take away some sway.

Well it is all over... RIP vtail EZ.

Lesson? Depron was not a good choice for this application...

EZ brushless mod flying with a LiPo and Aiptek A-HD HD Camcorder in the nose.
I tried to edit it, but the program kept making it bigger somehow. Oh well.

So I have been "bored" with DLG (not enough thermals!)

I do still love it, but I would like to fly a bit longer.. SOOOOOOO

I bought a Boomer (yes I know, I told you I still like it) and a Magpie from Mountain Models. It has not arrived yet... But I did find someone in the area selling a used one!!

I bought it, duh! It is a very slow docile flier, but kind of 3D'ish (light/acrobatic).
Well the stock batteries were no good anymore (only got 45 second flights out of the three the guy sold to me).
So like Tim the Tool Man, ughughugh, MORE POWER!! I got a brushless set up for it!

Here are the pics I have so far, and I will be updating more of them as they become available.

So I burned out that Electrifly. Swung to big of a prop... Lesson learned.

Put the Himax from the deceased vtail modded EZ* on it. Will take pictures. Re-covered the slow-fly wing too! Wow this thing is almost a 3D plane!

Also I have been thinking about making these available for people to modify (everything needed is in the kit) Or as and ARF/RTF. My parents say I like to build as much as I like to fly....

Anyone interested please PM me!!

You know... I was watching the things my dad bought to try to get into model airplanes while I was away in Iraq..... Seeing those things I can understand why a lot of people get a bad taste and never get into it. Or those passionate enough to keep on going and wasting all the time and money getting there. There are a few exceptions, the EZ star, the space scooter, and other airplanes of honorable mention. These planes are truly for the beginner. I have found something that I hope will get some of the kids in my area outside and enjoying the fresh air again (I remember what the air was like when I was a kid, even if Al Gore tells us it is getting worse). I hope to take a few Alula's with me every time I go flying and invite whoever gets close enough to try one. I hope to spur an increase in modeling activity in my area. If anyone has anything to add or ideas I would love to hear it.

02/25/08 (lunch time)
So one of my colleagues was interested in flying one of these. So on our lunch break he got to fly the for the first time. This is after about 10 minutes of crashing . He liked it a lot.
The plane was totally fine after the last crash. I have since put new servos in it since those old blue birds were a POS IMHO.

A co-worker flying his guts out!

This is a kid that came over to see what I was doing. I let him fly and he almost hit me! That is why the video is weird at first.
