Not too sure if this is where I notify any and everyone that I am looking for a Great Planes Giant 82 inch wing span Super Sportster, or any part of it. fuselage, landing gear, rudder, elevator etc. I would like to find one new in the box but like I say I will take just a fuselage or any part of it....

Great Planes does not make this airplane any more. I am kind of new to the procedures on RC and reading the side panel really doesn't explain it any better as well..... Thanks to all that can help me . email is [email protected]

This blog will describe the build of an own design electric powered Vickers Viscount - the world's first turboprop airliner. This will be my fifth OD model, earlier ones being a Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer, Armstrong Whitworth Argosy, Piaggio 136 amphibian and most recently a Beechcraft King Air B200. Build logs are on this Group for the Piaggio and the King Air.

I have not been out on the slope since 6/5 with either no wind or wind blowing every direction but the needed NW for the last 2 months.
I could not stand to wait any longer for a much needed fix {or at least a nice walk to the top on a beautiful summer day }
so with a forecast of a 10mph west I loaded up my Crystal and headed out .
The forecast was spot on with a measured max of 10mph on my Hall wind Gage .

I launched any found I could intermittently catch some slope lift off the north west tip of the hill that wasn't quite shaded by the tree line that is on the south side.
With all the sunshine large thermals were passing through out in front of the hill , I was alternating between out front of the hill and the face as the conditions ebbed and flowed .
After about a hour the wind was dying so I landed and headed back down to my car...
What's that they say - a not so good day of flying is better than an good day of work

The concept has been proven by using the Valiant landing gear installed in the Apprentice, Timber and Gentle Lady. The U shaped landing gear allow the lipo to fit between the legs. The aluminum has to be secure to the foam via hardwood such as 1/16 thick plywood that would extend forward on either side of the cockpit. A brace at the top would allow a single screw to keep the gear from falling down and away from the fuselage. The plastic exhaust plate on the belly would have to be removed and put back in place after the gear was plugged in place. This exhaust plate could be modified with a plywood plate to further secure the gear from changing shape before it extends away from the fuselage sides. A small stearable tailwheel would be attached to the rudder. See pics

Oh no! Another flying Pig!

Having recently purchased a Spektrum iX12 Tx I was intrigued with the possibilities of Sequencers, especially those that self cycle repeatedly causing an outcome such as flashing a light or moving a widget.

For a long time I have wanted to make model ornithopters for Phoenix, but how to make the wings flap? I could put them on one of the normal control channels so they move with the ailerons or elevator for example, as I do to animate my pilots but that is not very satisfactory for wings. Then I realised I could use a Cyclic Sequencer to drive the flapping motion!

At that point I was looking for an ornithopter to experiment with and I suddenly realised we already have one; Miss Piggy!

Previously I could make her flap her wings and run by moving the aileron and elevator rhythmically during take off. Now I could drive those motions with a Cyclic Sequencer. How cool is that?

To make this version of Miss Piggy flap her wings and run autonomously, the movements are not intrinsic to Phoenix but are driven by the Spektrum sequencer.
