Wow, I cant believe 4 years has gone by since my last entry. I have built around 2 dozen more planes since 2016. Mostly all FPV. Also built about a hald dozen DJI HD Quads. Anyway, here is my latest and greatest!
Had my Albabird out for the maiden this week and probably 4 more flights after that to get it tuned. Flies very nice now and just sips at the battery for having 2 motors. I am cruising at around 5 to 6 Amps at a speed of ~32mph. Running brother hobby 1300KV motors in it (7X4 3-blade props) and a 10,500mah custom li-ion battery. This is a keeper for sure!

What a fun flying plane, especially off of water! Setup for FPV and I am getting about 15+ minutes of flight time with a HK 5000mah multirotor battery in it. And to think I was going to sell this plane before I even built and flew it??!! This is a keeper!

Wow first blog post in awhile....
ThisTyphoon H works pretty darn good. I just grab the small wizard which is the size of a TV remote and I can have the Typhoon H follow me / Watch me. The wizard is a great little remote and can do a lot of the main controls that the ST16 main controller can do!

This was also flying into a 10-15 mph wind and the Typhoon Hex handles the winds no problem!

More Vids to come!

My waterproof Dex Mini Quad is done and a lot of fun to fly! !
My build includes a 1.5 Flip flight controller, Lemon rx, 2205C 1400KV motors from HobbyKing, 30A SimonK ESC's and a 1600mah 3S battery. Lots of power with this combo!
Next is to attach my GoPro for some above and under water footage! Maybe I'll even go fishing with it!

Well, I finished my Twinstar II and had the maiden flight today! Unfortunately I could not get my Dubro snow skis to work on it so I just put the oversized Fun Cub wheels on it. She flew very nice and only needed a little trimming out!! Now to get to work on adding my FPV gear to it!

Getting used to the CP flying. So far about 25 flights w/ the Nano. Love my mCPx and 130X too! A 300 may be in my future...!!? (Way in the future LOL)
The Nano is GREAT to learn CP heli flying!! This thing takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!!

I'm really enjoying my freshly built MAKO seaplane. This baby is a fun plane to fly with it's aerobatic lighter weight airframe. This video is on the maiden flight,, and I was doing inverted passes and felt very comfortable doing them!

I cut down the prop nacelle mount for the Polaris and added a 70mm EDF. She runs on a 4S 1850 battery. Lots of power but I'm only getting about 3-1/2 minutes of run time. To be expected I guess.... I may look into a larger battery but that may add too much weight. I also put the rudder in the jet-stream blast to allow for turning while taxiing! She flies great though! Love it!

So I have to give all the credit to "Velyter" here on RCG for giving me this idea! I removed the old motor pod and added a 55mm EDF on my Coota. And, as promised, it worked very well! Well..... at least until the ESC quit and it went ker-splash!! LOL I should have added some cooling for the ESC since the coota originally flew fine with a smaller 20A but I had to use a 30A for the EDF w/ a 4500KV motor. Sooo, back to the drawing board for a few mods. Luckily, only the EDF just broke clean off and a litle hot glue will fix her up just fine! Here's the vid of it:

Very nice plane to fly! She slows down to a crawl if you want her to! A definite keeper for my fleet!

Took my Drongo out for the maiden flight yesterday on the snow and I am impressed on how well it flies! I just had to give a few clicks of trim but that was it. Very fun and fast plane to fly! It just feels very light in the air and rolls are nice and axial and landings are slow, smooth and predictable. Pretty much vertical performance too!
I am using the same motor as on my Polaris (2212-6) but it appeared to be a bit faster than the Polaris. The weight came in at just about 17 oz. w/ a 2200 3S battery. My Polaris weighs in at about 21 oz. w/ an 1800 3S so that probably explains the speed difference.
