I've been working on and off with a few Helicopters which are from the past. My Century Swift NX converted to FBL and just recently took down my TT Mini Titan 325SE from the shelf. I started to convert it to FBL as well so I can build up the Thunder Tiger AH-1W Super Cobra conversion kit so, here I go.
What brought me back to the rotary aircraft is the purchase of the Fly Wing 450L V2.5 450 Size GPS Stabilized Helicopter. So, I have a few projects in the works which include a RotorScale AH-6 Attack 450 Heli from MotionRC, and the Century Swift mechanics in the 550 AH-1 eCobra which is a Balsa kit from Approach Engineering, designed by it's founder the late CW James Linder. These two additional projects will sport the Fly Wing H1 Flight Controller with the M10 GPS Module. I have the "on again, off again" Build Threads below.

Never got into "correctly" programming of a 6 servo Sailplane, but started to program a few Acro models with Crow/Butterfly and implementing spoilers on a couple....... That's when I knew it was time to get serious about actually programing my Stealth DX18 to create models for a better experience and of course for flying success!

So, I started to search for help on the configuration and setups for my two 6 servo sailplanes and that's when I came across Sherman Knight, aka Duworm and Red Sailplane where his work is available.
Total of 250 pages, Holy C***, worth every dollar!

Seriously, I haven't been into Gliders or Sailplanes, but have owned a Radian and do have a Blaster 3 DLG, the Kunai warm-liner and a HK Walrus 1.4m with Flaps. So, when I saw this Phoenix fly at my club field a couple weekends ago and had to have one. First, I liked the large built-in wheel it has flaps, then I saw that the fuselage was a very durable plastic. Other than my last club president who introduced me to DLG gliders, I hadn't been around any "die hard" glider or sailplane pilots in any other clubs so, I really never learned the setup skills. So, now it's time to get started........

After 2 separate flying days and watching a fellow club member tweak and fly this plane, I had to order it Tower Hobbies. I also; ordered the same power system as he did saving a good amount of dollars, should be under $200.

I will put up a "Build Log because there are a few things that should be identified since it's been available for for some time now. I'll start by saying that at the time of starting this post, I purchased the UPROAR V2 for $99 and went elsewhere for the Power System.

On October 4th was the World Wide Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon which was the 4th year in a row, the BCMA Ukie Squadron entered the
Controline Contest. We had 4-5 pilots entering to fly as many flights as they could to be logged into the World Wide Web Site and history books.
COVID probably affected beating the 2019 record logging; 554 pilots who made 6,127 flights

Although, I have 2 other projects on the bench, I've decided to start building the Carl Goldberg Cub as an Electric "Clipped Wing" version. Going to modify the cowling with a Continental A-65-8 dummy engine kit from Top Notch Products as well as using the Landing Gear from Super Cub 25e.
I hope to use my Permax BL-O 4235-0480 Motor & 60A ESC from the Multiplex XL Cub which has the same WS, length and flying weight, plus (+-) 1 lbs........

EDIT: I ended up installing an E-Flite Power 60/470Kv as well as a Talon 90 ESC.

Specifications

• Wing Span: 76 1/2 in. ( 194 cm)
• Clipped Wing: 67 1/2 in. ( 171 cm)

The original Church was built in 1928 and 1929, by Jim Church of Chicago. He used basic Heath Parasol parts, ie the wings, body and tail. His plane was powered with the famous Henderson motorcycle engine. In 1929, Jim entered the Church in the Cleveland Air Races in the 100 cu in class. The Church, piloted by Freddie Lund, test pilot for Waco, lead the race for five laps before a burned valve forced it from the race. The airplane performed so well, Jim started kitting his modifications for the Heath. He also sold the complete plane and parts to potential builders.

General Characteristics

Length: 16 ft 9 in (5.11 m)
Wingspan: 26 ft 8 in (8.13 m)

Gross weight: 584 lb (265 kg)
Fuel capacity: 4.5 Gal (17 L)

This has been way over due for me.......

Have always planned to finish this into a NASA Cobra AH-1G. I'm sure it will take a little time.....

Still on the fence regarding the finishing theme for the Corbra. I'm so leaning toward the Military version so, I can truly honor the designer of this kit, the late CW2 James R.V. Linder. James also founded Approach Engineering.

Just ordered this eStar kit from Esprit. However; I was going to purchase the eStar Aeronca C-3, but the Decathlon was right under it's listing. I've been wanting a Decathlon for some time, but wanting a smaller than 67". Actually less than 50" and there it was.........

Wingspan: 43.5" (1100mm)
Length: 30.5" (775mm)
Weight: 21-23 oz. (600-650g)

The Bellanca Super Decathlon is the best aerobatic trainer around. Powered by a Lycoming 180hp engine, this aircraft can be stressed to 6 Gs positive and 5 Gs negative. It's easily capable of 4 minutes of sustained inverted flight. The Decathlon's symmetrical wing makes it ideal for inverted maneuvers. This highly prefabricated kit belongs in the "super scale competition" models category. Once built, the airframe is extremely light and clean but still able to withstand the high loads and stresses associated with aerobatic flight.

The manufacturer uses the latest construction techniques including Laser CNC cutting to achieve high strength and low weight. Each part and every detail are meticulously made.

Although I'm not a 3D guy, I have always loved my Addiction after I bought it on impulse, but most of all I love the technology, design, flight performance and quality of PA's aircraft! So, why the Extra 260?

Honestly; I had come across a special sale with Precision Aerobatics and bought a motor combo with the Thrust 30, Quantum 45 Pro and spinner combo. I put it with my other power systems and forgot about it. While recently listing some items in the "RCG Classifieds", I added this combo to the mix.

After 6 days and 126 views no bites so I asked myself, why would anyone look for a thrust 30 and what would they install it in? Crap, the Extra 260 of course..... after looking at it a little closer and saw the price, I clicked on the colors, but the yellow had no sample pictures.

That made me "Google" the 260 and boom there it was in yellow.

EXTRA 260

Specifications

Wingspan: 1219mm /48″
Length: 1094mm /43″
Wing area: 490 sq.in
Flight weight: approx 955gr/33.7oz
Wing loading: approx 9.9oz/sq.ft

Now I just have to wait for Delivery......

Because I already have the Thrust 30, 45 Quantum Pro and spinner my setup will be PA's recommended Integrated Performance Airframe-Drive System (iPA).

My Airframe order included;

Extra 260 ARF - Yellow, Airframe (New production run)
4x Nexatec NXT 70HV servos
Carbon fiber MD size long servo arms
Extra 260 Carbon Fiber Vortex Generators
4x PA V4 Lipo 2200mAh 11.1V 25-50c (by 3 get 1 free)
Thin gauge electric extension lead
VOX 13x5 Electric wooden propeller

Already have 12x6 and 12x7 props

Weighed in at 35.0oz / 992g - 35.5oz / 1006g with wheel pants

PA's flight weight is approx 33.7oz / 955g
