I have had a old "Gentle Lady" sitting in the corner for a long time and she has got to portly to fly... So what do you do? Build one out of foam... Not sure what type of wing yet... mirror image of the original wing or maybe a "Jedelsky" style wing like the one for my "Windy" powered glider. The fuselage is progressing good and looks real close to the original wood one. Going to power this one with a brushless motor and a folding prop. More to come... Mudman1959

Had a chance to work on the fuselage last night for a bit. I was able to get the rest of the cross bracing in and most of the electrics installed and operating correctly. Next is the wing... I am thinking about making a mounting block to attach my wings from my "Windy" to, so that I do not have to modify them. I want to someday fly that glider... I am still going to make a wing from foam but I need to get some carbon fiber rods for a spar. Anyone with a idea for a 7 foot wing design that I might be able to make from foam, I would like to hear from you...

She now has wings... almost 8 feet of it. The wing is a close resemblance of the wing on my Robbe "Windy" glider. I did not do the ribs like the original. I used wood dowels up next to the spar, I will have to add carbon fiber rods at the step on the bottom for more support since it is a little flexible right now. The forward section of the wing is cut and bent over the...Continue Reading
