Located in Snowflake Az, our flying site will be FRIA. Silver Creek Aeromodelers is turning a year old. We have 14 members and growing. The last year has gone by quickly. Our runway is packed dirt/sand. It's approximately 900ft. Plenty of room for almost anything. AMA sanctioned and insured. We have just been FRIA approved!

This was my father in laws V-Star. Last year he was not doing well, hadn't been able to go to the hangar an care for it anymore. Everyone in the family knew my oldest son wanted this. Somewhere I have a picture of him at age 8 in the cockpit of his grandfathers plane . The airport wanted the hangar space,so my brother in law decided to sell it, without letting us know of his intentions. My son tried to find it through the N number. He hit a brick wall as it was no longer registered. I put an ad in a Fa(ebook experimental aircraft page to see if anyone knew where it was. Well the admin of the page took 6 months to approve the post. We had all but given up on finding it. I got a notification that the admin had finally approved my post and several people had responded. When I went to the post,I found that the picture had not been included in the post,so I added one. Lots of interest in trying to find it and after supplying the N number, most hit the same brick wall as we did. Then one person suggested that I post in the Stopl/ Starduster page. I joined the group and posted my story. Within 2 days someone replied with a picture "Yea, that's in my garage". I was shocked and amazed. I sent him a pm and after a few back and forth's he said his son would possibly sell it. I gave my son the information, they talked and came up with a price. We drove from Az to Ask to retrieve the family heirloom back to where it belongs. I'm so greatful that th e person who we got it from realized that this was a well known aircraft at Oshkosh. It has been on the Stopl webpage for a very long time as well. The quest to find the Grail is complete, now the adventure begins.

Decided to make a battery pack for my trailer and a portable battery pack for my flight box. The trailer battery is 6,4s x 10 18650 Tesla batteries rated at 3000mah. A whopping 72,000 mah running my trailer. 300 watt inverter to keep my planes trickling. 100 watt solar system keeps the battery pack charged.

I put 2 dogfighter wings together, modified a duraplane tail, cut a 5x4 fence post, threw it all together with a Honda GX 32 four stroke. It flew pretty good. Lost a wheel after takeoff. The landing, she'll let's say I stuck it. Cut out a new fuse. Just waiting for the wind to die down. Hopefully I can fly it at our last/first fly in next week.

Almost 2 years ago I decided to make the move out of the Midwest to what seemed like the other side of the world. Packed up the family and all my planes, crossed the country and settled in to a small mountain town in Arizona. I knew no one, didn't even know if there was a flying sight let alone a club. Took me over a year to locate like minded people. Enjoying the people here. I almost have my shop done. I have a 1000 ft runway (sand &dirt) to fly off. I habe since found other flying sites locally and other pilots. Its a new chapter in my life. All the cars in my previous blog entries are gone. I traded a life in a small city in Indiana for an off grid ranch in the White Mountains of Az where we raise goats and micro pigs.
I've come a long way since 2015 when my surgeon told me I may never walk again. Took me a few years to learn how to walk. Had to sell my cars to pay the bills. That is all behind me now. Bought an ultralight and now learning to fly.
