Well, here in Michigan the weather is turning faster than most would like. I am trying to get the home ready for winter as well as getting the necessary materials for this winters build. The plan is to scratch build first a Paragon them a Windfree. The Paragon looks pretty much a stright forward build, the Windfree will take some studing of the plans. The first thing I noticed on the Windfree is that the wing panels are stright (no poly) the spars are not one solid piece rather there is a joint about 80% of the way out. Well, I'm not a fan of that so the first thing on that build will be a trip to the lumber yard to get some Sika Spruce long enough to mill my own spars, ONE PIECE !!!

This being my first blog entry, I'm not really sure what to do. I am addicted to sailplanes, this season with great reluctance I cut the nose off my Riser 100 and put a motor on it. I did this so as to be able to fly at the local RC feild without a high start. Gotta say I was pleasantly impressed at the preformance of my glider despite the motor on the front. The plane came in at 64 oz, so not bad with the motor/battery. I am in the finishing stages of a Great Planes Spectra, this should be a great flyer, made major changes to the tail, and put a rimfire .10 up front.
The most exciting part is I found a place not far from my house that has 2 and a 1/2 soccer feilds end to end that are arely used, building a 2m Riser next, no motor, just high start and sail !!!!!!!
