I recently purchased a GP Escapade MX 30=35 and want to install a smoke system. Does anyone have one set up and would share the procedure with me. I am a RC er and have flown them for 15 + years. I have 3 giants and several 40 size planes and 4 small electrics so I am sure I could handle the procedure ok. Thanks for any help that comes my way.

I had three motors as good candidates for rewinding. One was my friends Turnigy 2730 3000kV (Red Wonder), second was my burned 1700kV Blue Wonder and third was an old DT750 motor that could have a higher kV of around 1200-1300.

I had rewound one motor earlier, so I was pretty confident that I can get this done. Still I wouldn't call rewinding as very easy or cost efficient - brushless motors are so cheap nowadays that these custom wound motors have to be the most expensive after this operation. Still it's nice to know that you can repair and even improve brushless motor with some effort.

I had 0,5mm (~24AWG) wire from my friend and also 0,4mm (~26AWG) in my own stocks. I decided that I should use these instead of getting more wire, which might end up unnecessary in the long run. This limited my options for rewind somewhat, but I still found potential candidates.

I used RCGroups forums on DT and 2730 as a reference and to give idea on possible combos for successful rewind.

Red Wonder @ 3000kV

My friend wanted this as 2S 3D plane motor and after a bit of researching I concluded that my best shot would be 10 or 11 turns of 0,5 winded DLRK WYE. What I ended up after test wind was 10 turns. The last turn was a bit challenge for me. I know some others are able to squeeze couple of more turns, but I'm just a beginner and my fingers were hurting already.

Tested at 8,3V (2S 1800mAh lipo not quite full)
  • 6x4 6,8A 54,5W
  • 7x4 11,1A 86,3W
  • 8x3.8SF 13A 100W
Blue Wonder @ 1700kV

EACHINE E10W Mini Wifi FPV drone
The EACHINE E1OW is one of the best FPV drone it has all the features a beginner drone should have. It provides something extra, it is an FPV drone, a quadcopter being 32*32*22mm containing FPV is great.
The drone weights about 15g

There are many advantages of having this drone some are; it's is a great flyer if you are new at flying drones I recommend this drone to you as it is extremely stable because of its 6-axis gyro, so there will be no trouble flying this drone; this drone is also compact 32*32*22mm which means you can fly this drone indoor without any problem, this means if you live somewhere where it often rains then this drone is best for you; it comes with FPV, although many drones come with FPV only few come at a price range of (£30-£40) because it comes with an FPV, if you have a VR headset then you can connect your phone to the drone and you can see the image in virtual reality headset;this drone can be controlled by your phone this allows you to take it anywhere without worrying about the transmitter as your phone can be the transmitter; the most impressive feature of this drone is the no head mode it will help you a lot if you are a new learner because you will not need to worry about which way is the front of your drone; finally the mobile phone app functions a status of gravity sensing so if you turn it on the done will move the direction you point you phone, but it needs some improvement in that function.

DJI Phantom 4 Pro: Landing on water surface? Extreme durability test episode 1 #SamiLuo (4 min 46 sec)

0:16 - 2:03: Phantom 4 Pro auto return to home testing, what's the difference with P4?
2:08 - 2:45: Circle around a building by using its obstacle avoidance system
2:47 - 4:05: How it "positioning" when covering other obstacle avoidance visual "eyes" but only left the rear ones indoors?
4:06 - 4:24: Landing on water surface?
As we seen from the video, Phantom 4 pro will auto find a perfect way to get back to home when signal lost, not like P4 which can only back to home in a straight line.
Also how it "positioning" when indoors? No GPS signal plus covering other obstacle avoidance visual "eyes" but only left the rear ones
And at last: will it land on water surface if you land it?

Some of us love to break miniquad arms. Modular arms make repairing less painful.
So here it is. My SLM.

12mm wide arms slammed between a full bottom plate and a small size middle plate. Thanks to compact design idea its only 2mm wider than an SL and my calculations tell me, that its going to be pretty light - well under 90gr for 4mm arms version. I'll cut this as 5 and perhaps also as 6 incher.

'Sup, gang!! Been a while!

Here's a good flying FEJ Blue Angel 7 vid I shot at the 2016 Homestead Air Show last month.

Here's the YouTube description:

Blue Angel 7, a two-seat jet-powered F/A-18D Hornet from the Osprey RC Club in Homestead lights it up at the 2016 Homestead Air Show. The real Blues use this jet for backup and to give demonstration rides to VIP civilians.

Anyone who knows who the pilot is, just leave a post so I can give proper credit in the description on my Mach1AirSpace channel. Thank you and enjoy!

Hey guys I got this micro quadcopter the other day and I took it out for a flight inside. Its very cool and one of the best micro drones I've ever flown. First off the radio is a decent size. Sometimes quads this small you get a tiny tiny tiny radio but this one is a good size, similar to a gamepad for a video game console. It's fairly easy to fly (i wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a beginner quad though) and very responsive to the controls. I found it best flying in mid rates. High rates it for the really experienced flyers because the yaw is crazy! You can have fun with this too using headless mode and return to home. and of course the camera is cool and takes good video and pictures when you figure the cost of this RTF quad (in dec 2016) around $28 with free shipping. One thing to note it - it DOES NOT come with a micro SD card for the video/pic capture.

I got this from Gearbest and there's more info about this in my video description. Here's my video I did on Youtube for my channel and there's plenty other videos like this in my channel if you are interested.

Great you get your v911 open the box and you are ready to fly , If you are new to rc heli,s or even a old master first thing to do is put the transmitter that comes with your new v911 in the bin . Find a transmitter that comes with a v912 you will have much better control enjoy your flying . Add some BLUE TACK about the size of a pee to the inside tip of the nose cone .

Contixo F5 Altitude Hold Wifi FPV Unboxing and Review (18 min 11 sec)

The first thing I noticed about the Contixo F5 quadcopter is how much it looks like the Yuneec Q500. It is a sweet looking quad, but looks alone does not a good quadcopter make. It flies really well. Out of the 6-7 altitude hold quads I have flown, this one definitely executes this feature the best. Usually quadcopters either dip to the ground or gain altitude when giving full pitch in the high rate, but the F5 maintains its altitude no matter what. Don't expect to be blown away by the video quality, but that is the case for most toy quadcopters.

-Solid altitude hold makes this a smooth flyer
-Headless mode actually works well
-WiFi video feed is fairly stable
-The camera can be tilted
-Auto-start and stop
-Labeled remote controller
-On/off switch
-Durable propellers

-Video quality is meh

Some folks may know I replaced my i10 factory battery with a single 18650 .
So here is an update .

I fully charged the 18650 at the time of the mod , but have not charged the battery since then .
The included picture shows the battery indicator , I tested the battery voltage and it was @ 4.03volts
Funny thing about 18650 , the bulk of the stored energy is usually released between 4v and 3.8v . So I still have plenty of battery power left . Has it been 5 months !

Looks like I may need to recharge the battery some time in 2017 .
