New color scheme...wonder where I saw this before??? Anyone?
The shape of the Specter is really close to my Siren's shape.
Air vent hole on the bottom. Easy to see red colors...a good bit of contrast?
the lower nut has fallen out completely. I moved it forward about 1/4 " to be even with the top nut when I remounted them. Very odd staggered install stock.
Here's the bare airframe. Used 2 1/2" medium heavy fiberglass cloth on the center section with 30' epoxy. Not done yet in this photo
This nice plane sidetracked me a bit......it flies real well. Carved down the stab leading edge seat 1/4" and it flies hands-off...no funny pitch issues the stock one exhibits.
added a pushrod bulkhead to help with the support. Also added some clear plastic GWS supports left over from an old GWS kit that helps support the WIRE up in the servo area.
my servos...should have mounted them more forward. Way overkill....added a 1/8" ply floor, the 1/4" blocks for mounting screws, then used Goop glue to glue the floor in place. Added a lot of stability/strength to the fuselage in this area...n
getting crowded...left NO room for my good receivers! Had to strip down a smaller Spektrum rX to get it to fit. :(another sign I didn't do my gear's mounting homework very well)
40amp esc...fit great.
my 3 helper buddies. Our prairie dogs...they are really fun pets....and love to sit on the workbench and watch me work. Just can't leave them alone in the hobby room because they also like the EAT my projects!
