It's done! Just waiting for a sunny day to fly it. Note the Sony Nex-5n on the front with roll-stabilized gimbal! This is the ultimate copter/camera combo from MultiWiiCopter.com :)
This was taken after a successful flight near the Golden Gate bridge in California, USA.
1.5mm drill then 2mm thread tap
2 x 8mm screw
camera mount works well. No viabration at all on video
Lower surface. The red rectangular shapes are the bases or the boom support blocks that 'key' into the machined slots in the deck
I used the 4 metal standoffs (nylon ones also supplied). These will attach to the lower deck
The quality of the components is obvious
The boom support blocks are not fastened to either deck - each are located on the 4 posts the tightening of the screws from the decks above "& below applies a clamping force on the booms

I labelled the ESC's, booms and boom mounts to make my quad easier to re-assemble after transportation
Battery on camera plate. My theory was the heavier the plate the less likely to viabrate

Is the motor plate attached at the predrilled hole in carbon fiber boom?
Or is the motor plate attached to the precut slot at the opposite end of the predrilled hole in the carbon fiber boom?
Background props certainly closer than the diameter...
New larger Scarab with 260mm booms, and larger center section. Props are 9050 3-blades which are awesome so far!

Hobby king Quad with 1045 props and 70 gram motors. The Motors were to heavy for this frame.
Reinforcement of the under frame with 2mm plywood.
And the frame still found ways to break. This happened almost every landing. My Blade 400 could handle heaver landings.
At last a real Quad frame. I just need the ESC's and I can start building. The packaging came with two bonus lunch boxes. (LoL)

My paris still wont connect to the TX and or the Computer. I get these readings (In the screen shot)but the green light still flashes.

The tray is only mounted with the bottom two holes
Ready to go. 12A in hover gives 10 minutes flight time on a 3S 2200 pack. 1kg
FPV equipment on top, Go-Pro or Canon A2200 to come.

Practice cloverleaf. Actually came out good.

Bottom plate with flat head screws. Button head screws could be used without having to countersink plates.
Using nuts, I only attach to outer holes on top plate.

The short piece is attached into the boom with aquarium silicone to make a "soft" motor mount.

10 degree angle seems excessive but copter is rock solid. I use from 3 to 10 degrees of angle, round booms are an advantage, solid and keep motors in position.
Being able to bolt everything together before the top is attached makes building with a lot more fun. Everything is tested and adjusted before the top plate is attached.
