Holes on the sides of the bobbin, to help me transfer the bobbin from the winder to the prop hook.
Another prop hook style - this one has a short piece of oversized of brass tubing (exact fit to the hole on the bobbin) soldered off center, to the end of the wire. I've had a more difficulties centering the bobbing on the hook with this arrangement.
Simple hook with the bobbin on the Gollywock.
Champion Up Shot
Tap gently... :P. A bench wise may also be used and is more humane.
Glue the ply disk on top and all done!
Spread glue on the stem of the arm, push the thin Alu sleeve on the arm. A bit of glue fillet where the sleeve meets the hub may be helpful for smoother action.
Score the timer arm with a jeweler's file or coarse sandpaper, apply glue and push in place.
Push the 1/8" ID Alu tubing on the hub. Drill a hole through the tubing and through the plastic hub. The hole doesn't necessarily have to come out of the other side of the tubing.
Material needed: Viscous damper, 1/8" ID diameter Alu tubing ~3/8" long , thin music wire ~1/2" long, thin Alu tubing to fit on the music wire ~1/8" long, 1/32" ply disc cut using a hole punch :)
