Just a lower angle shot
Hope it is done right so far. That shear web for the spoiler horn, does it get glued on the forward edge and outside top and bottom of the two spars or what. No picture is very clear. Froggy's looks like he has doubled up on his and J-Bird's looks like he
I think everything is okay to proceed again. BTW does everyone cut out the holes for the pushrods and ballast tube, etc. before gluing the formers in? Or do some before and some after?
Start over again, the new formers in at the top. Because my ply was not quite the thickness of the original ply I double everything up. You can notice the slot for F4 is bigger than original in order to fit the new width of the former.
The whole fuse had a slight arc to it.
The F1 is out of line
The box with the marauder inside. Hopefully will be built to fly this summer.
This is a plane a friend at the club gave me that he had in the garage for years. He bought it off some other guy who had a gas motor on it. I have cut down a cupola that had been built on top of where the wings go. I am not sure what model is started out
I built this cularis last year,it has an electric motor and a 103"wingspan. I got it so I had something to fly in our big bird show our club puts on each year. I haven't flown it yet! Pretty though!
There she goes
Just hooking up the hi-start
the gambler bottom
The dlg gambler topside
Sophisticated Lady new covering topside
Gentle Lady with the new covering job
Was going to ask about F3 and why the top was smaller than the bottom...but I just figured it out...it looks like it is actually f2b.
I think this is done properly
Oh man, look at all the pieces. Merrill has got to be kidding! That is going to be a beautiful glider? What have I gotten myself into?
Yahoo, it is finally here!
looks are deceiving. I got out to take this pic and my hands were numb very quickly
The view I will see the most I hope
She is ready and waiting
In her defense she has .60 oz. of lead in her nose in order to get her CG just behind the spar
Thanks Allan for that masking tape trick or I would still be trying to get the backing off the covering, it works like a charm.
Can anybody identify it?
It is not perfect but I learned a lot.
It is a little heavier but it should hold eh?
wanted to show you guys what I did before I put the covering back.
this is a photo of that spot from another sophisticated lady
I hope the pictures describe it. If anyone has questions I will be glad to answer them.
This a pic I took from the hill at the end of my street.
Gives you a better idea of the angle of the canopy. Notice the tongue at the front that snugs the front down when inserted.
The balsa block that the tack is in does not cover the opening in the hatch support at all.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
