5mm strut adjustment tools! Glue bottle inserted for scale comparison.
Digital DC Ammeter Setup
Still have to bundle tie the wires to the back of the power supply
This is the aircraft's good side!
Comparison with the stock fixed gear plate (that I tore the fixed gear off)
Attach deck to bottom of horizontal runner.
Current repair in progress. Also stripped a flap servo so I'm replacing that too. But all in all, EPO saves the day.
Only way that I found to move the CG far enough forward....
2 mm raised magnet from the others
Wear of the magnets internally
No masking tape, please!
I've reinforced the rear corners of the battery hatch opening w/ glas and polyC (tough to see in this pic). I also have a bunch supporting the inside. The wing being in place also provides a lot of support. BUT, this is the weakest portion of the mod.
The top half of the rx/servo compartment could be opened up to allow the battery back at least another inch and a half for CG purposes. I'm making a belly lander on this one so I don't have to worry about the front wheel linkage
I still have to take the notch at the back of the old firewall off. That will allow the battery to slide at least an inch further aft without additional modification.
Side view. I re-drew the aft panel lines to accomodate the battery hatch cover. It will allow easier access.
Take out a piece out on both sides about this size?
No decals on the new fuse yet, but soon!
Bottom view that shows opening for retract servos and larger wheel openings
Back view of flaps
Beefed up box to hold retract servo
Flap area already cleared out!
How to repair this balsa sheet? Tear out or reinforce from underneath?
This is going to be a messy repair
Newly mounted struts with CG marks on bottom.
Here's a comparison of the newly designed strut rod (with temp discoloration). 2" DuBro tire for comparison.
