Covering scheme starting to come together.
Wax paper layed out over the wings plans and marked for each seperate color of covering.
"Glassing" the covering example to make one piece of covering out of four seperate pieces
Base scheme completed
Stabilizer and Elevator completed.
Installing the aileron 1/4" balsa LE tristock.
Building the ailerons
Nylon wing bolt held in with epoxy on the head. Wing bolt will secure wing halves together while GG expands and dries and hold wings firmly in place against the fuse.
Install the 1/16" cap strips and scrap 1/16" plly pieces for the wing hatch.
Master Airscrew hand held razor plane. A really great and inexpensive tool.
Mark the sheeting for the acess hatch cutout and servo. Trim the holes out with X-Acto knife. lay sheeting on wing mark where needs to be trimmed on the spar butted up against the LE sheeting
Butt glue the center section sheeting pieces with thin ca and sand smooth.
The sheeting will curve on its own to the contour of the wing.
Wet the Leading Edge sheeting with Windex.
Trailing edge balsa sheeting laid on ribs. Mark each rib with pencil for a reference line as to how far up the rib the medium ca glue will be applied. remove the sheeting apply a bead of medium ca to the length of the trailing edgs stock and each rib . Al
4 inch wide balsa sheeting with grain running vertically layed in rib bay. Mark with a pencil trim and glue in with thin ca glue.
Servo used as a guide for servo hardwood rails that are glued in with Medium CA glue.
Scar balsa blocks pinned to foam board to maintain proper alignment of each rib.
staright edge rule tool butted up against tthe ribs te. trim rib ends as needed with an emory board so that they all butt up evenly against the ruler.
All ribs layed out on spar,chk alignment for squareness and glued in with thin ca
root rib assemblies with scrap 1/2" balsa spacers clamped and installed on Spruce spars
Assembling the root rib plywood doublers and balsa root ribs using dowels for proper alignment. Use Med ca glue.
