The Ultimate Super Slow Stick!

This thread was started as a place to centralize ideas and input for the ultimate version of a Super SS! Thread suggested by jmh!
I'll start by boring you all with my version!
Astro 020 W/Astro 4.1:1 Planetary GB, 13 X 8 APC E prop, 10 cell 1400AE nicad packs, heavily reinforced wing, new stronger LG and tail wheel. AUW is 34oz and thrust is just over 40oz! So of course unlimited vertical, etc. Here are some pics!
Wing has carbon spar through the web and heavy music wire reinforcing epoxied to the underside of the dihedral area front and back and has fiber tape reinforcing for full length of wing as well as the usual FG rods glued to the wing and tape wrapped! Blue Zagi tape is for orientation!

Well interesting subject here.

The ultimate SS for me that would be somthing that really hasent been created yet.

My idea would be for a company like mountain modles or some other laser kit builder to build balsa replacement's for the wing and rudder and elevator.

The wing would be special. It would actually be 3 pieces.
The central section would be built to align with the v notch that held the origional wing and would also be held on the rubber bands. The right and left half of the wing would bolt into the central section.
This setup would allow for any kind of wing shape that would be found interesting and attractive to fly. flat bottem, semi semectric, full semectric, flaps, alerons ect.

The above I think would be the ultimate slow stick. this idea I freely give away and desire zero royalties of any kind. ;-)
what do ya think ?

P.S I know my spelling sux.. sry in advance.

O.K....we are going to create a light , super rigid flying machine. Take a stock Slow Stick and fashion a carbon fiber "king post" that extends from between the landing gear up through the wing center section about 4" or 5". Bind this to the alum. with thread and CA. Take some 25 lb. Berkley Braided Nylon fishing line and brace the wing out to about mid-span from the top and bottom of the king post. I use alum. welding rod to fashion small hooks that grip the fiber glass rod. Be sure to seal the knots with CA. You will be surprised how rigid and flex free the wing will be. It will track like a pattern ship.

Add some good wheels, carbon fiber push rods, Maybe a brushless/gearbox setup and hang on..... jmh

Looks like a good one to try with a Razor/GWS GB setup and 8 cell Kans! Hummmmm!? only problem would be no breakaway wing.... course if you don't dork it in it doesn't matter!

I don't even try to compete with boomer the Slow Stick MASTER anymore.
I wait until he does all the R&D then I steal his ideas and use 'em on mine

Boomer - I'm afraid I'm going to have to call your bluff here and remind you of your aileron experiments... surely the USSS is a 4-channel plane?

BTW - is your tail wheel steerable? I couldn't tell from the angle...

Desslok - have you thought of using some foam wing like here? That would be an interesting mod...

Turbojoe - I was hoping you were going to do a Twin Brushless SlowStick...

Nope!

No because it only rolls about 2 feet before it's going straight up and besides it takes off so stinkin' fast you wouldn't have time to steer anyway as it's not in contact with the ground long enough!
