The specs for the ESC that come with the version that includes the electronics, isn't anything special. There really shouldn't be any reason a TB ESC couldn't be used.

The ESC in the power set is a MULTIcont BL-37/II, which is actually a rebadged ThunderBird 36. Personally I would use an external BEC with that ESC. I had problems with it in my brushless EasyStar. Twice, low voltage drop caused my Spektrum AR7000 to reset and crash the plane. Since using an external BEC I've not had a single problem.

Darn shame. I, like others have been waiting for months for the release of the funcopter.

As someone who is waiting for the new 2.4 Gear to be released, I say to heck with everything else, work on on the new 2.4 gear! :-)

(Before a flame war erupts, I am kidding)

Additionally the Multiplex BL37/II has a hard Low Voltage Cutoff with no provision to select a soft cuttoff such as the TB series uses. Of course, for the version used in this heli, multiplex might be programming it different but I can't find any information that says it is.

Well, eventually, as with everything else, the FunCopter will be released, just wish they hadn't missed most of the good flying season.

I just emailed Multiplex back telling them that Tower hobbies has an estimated sale date as the end of June see link--------> http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXDH9

Maybe Multiplex should tell our US distributors whats going on instead of me doing it...........lol

perhaps they're having technical problems with it. Better to wait for a finished and well tested product than a beta POS like most of the other manufacturers chuck out.
