I guess I meant to say where can we pick one of these up RIGHT NOW.

If they can get them on the other side of the world, then we should be able to get them here through something called "The Mail". They will take items and ship them from one country to another, eventually bringing them to your door, if you pay them. It's a neat system.

So back to my question....Where can we pick one of these up RIGHT NOW?!?

Thanks!

In the past Multioplex have include CastleCreations ThunderBird ESC's in their power sets but they're not suitable for helicopter applications. I believe the FunCopter power set will use their new 40A controller, which has heli mode and a strong switching BEC.

On the ESC side this fixed pitch helicopter does not require an ESC that has a "heli mode" - Like the old Corona you will end up flying in the "plane mode" - you just need a simple linear throttle - like any plane and the ESC set to "no brake".

And since you are only running three servos whilst a strong switching BEC is always a good thing to have - it shouldn't be a necessity.

I cant wait when funcopter comes out in that way I can be more agressive and harder on the heli for sport flying. I have a heli called pegasus 18 and I cant even be hard on it because it will over heat. If I have it rich it wont even fly right. Sheesh, now i have a raptor, if i am hard on it and I crash, it will cost me an arm and a leg.

1. It has nothing to do with fixed pitch or collective pitch. Helicopters place a lot more stress on the ESC because the power delivery has a lot of short spikes. Go ask CastleCreations if they will warranty their ThunderBird ESC's for any helicopter application.

2. The ESC needs to have a soft start and throttle response or you could strip gears on spool up or climbouts.

True about the stripping gears when theres no soft start. Very true.
