Think the plane in photo 355 and 356 is called "STEELY DAN"

STEELY DAN
A DILLDOOUGH (Spell to get past the OBJECTIONABLE WORD FILTER) in the William Burroughs novel 'Naked Lunch'. According to Burroughs, the first Steely Dan was a metal DILLDOUGH that an evil German bulldyke prostitute crushed using her nether regions, and the second Steely Dan is still in use.

The third is playing songs and the fourth is flying high

Years, back, Don downing was trying to get a weird and unusual airplane fly in going in Weatherford....it never quite took off.

I like the idea of bring lots of weird models to SMALL, but I also want to keep SMALL true to it's roots, as well and not morph it completely into a weird airplane fly in.

Perhaps we ought to get a seperate weird Inter-X type event going here in the US. That way, large models could participate as well.

UGGGHHHHH....

I just can't seem to get it together....

Got a couple ( OK More then a couple) planes that are about 90% done.

You know how it is.

You're working on a plane and find out you need a part, so you push it aside on your workbench, thinking you will have to order it on-line somewhere and start working on another plane till you come to a point where you need something for it.

Got some of my plane farmed out to builders.
Hope they make it back in time.

I'm working on a BULLET, TURN-ONs, among a few others surprises

Hang in there, Larry. I know well your troubles...I have them all the time myself....

I am working on a large model (TF B-25J) for another event before SMALL, but will be shifting gears to SMALL shortly.

Hope to have a new Windrider BD-5J ready for SMALL, and perhaps a remanufactured Do-335 model I picked up a while back.

Richard Ng is hard at work on a Rainbow autogyro and some other stuff.

I have heard Paul Willenborg is hard at work on a couple of models.

Anyone else have anything to report?

Hey Thomas,

I have two new half size vintage pattern models I will be bringing to SMALL. A hlaf size Orion and half size Tom Brett Perigee. These will be in addition to the half size Astro Hog and Taurus I had with me last year. The Orion is the prototype for the kit now being sold by BMJR. I have been having a lot of fun building and flying these classic early pattern models.

I sure am looking forward to SMALL.

Dale,

I am glad to help support the most fun event that I, Tom Blakeney, and Paul Willenborg go to every year. I always look forward to going to SMALL.
