I'd really like to be able to get my hands on the motor.
I also want to see how the motor's rotor mates with the main shaft. I wonder if they stuck to the same wimpy 4mm shaft, or bumped it up a notch to 5mm. I'm sure Matt wants to know too!

I imagine it'll be a rather unique motor. Probably well over 20 poles which could be useful for other low RPM applications.

I'm glad they finally made a more complete airframe. The old LMH "crutches" left some hacking for the owner to do... particularly figuring out how to mount the battery and gyro.

I agree aragon. The Corona drive system was always one that needed tweeking. The direct drive sounds very good indeed.

Why does everybody compare every freaking heli that hits the market to a Trex 450? The comment "well, you can get a Trex 450 for that price" has become a broken record. I know this may shock some of you, but not every newbie is looking to buy a Trex 450! I learned to fly helis on a HBFP before I moved onto CP helis. However, I still enjoy throwing my FP birds around in the air. The Funcopter may be a rather expensive FP heli, but due to its durability and simple head design, along with its direct drive rotor head, will make this heli a big hit with beginners. I predict the Funcopter will also be a hit with the seasoned pilot, as well. Based upon the Funcopter's brushless power, size and weight, I bet it's a pretty good sport flyer, as well.

I like that the FunCopter is about the size of a Trex 450.

I think the original comment was that you could get a fully-bling'd Trex SE for that price - you could get a plastic TRex for around half the price. The funcopter has fewer, simpler parts than a CP machine so it should be cheaper.

You're right though, it fills a big gap in the market and should be a big hit. I guess they're just charging what they think people will pay and have the option to reduce it if it doesn't sell well.

Ha, well, you have to compare it to something, and everyone knows what a TR450 looks like and most, what it flies like. I think I'm going to let the FK run around in the market before I start getting too excited. I like how it looks, but "looks" and "works" are diferent things.

Hey Os.

The FunCopter is the next generation/iteration of the proven Corona FP heli by LMH. Add Multiplex to the mix and do-get excited my friend!

We'll see. I thought hard about a Corona when I first wanted a bigger heli than a micro- I think I mentioned that? Anyway, I read through the manuals for it several times, and still have the PDFs on my computer desktop! I expect I'll find one in the garage sooner or later .

we'll see. I'm not buying it until I've seen some more vid and what people are having for problems, but I like the direct drive approach, and there were some good ideas in the Corona. I may not like it in the end, or I may think it's great, but at least it's something different. If it flies well, we may have a new trainer.

You too, Rob.
