Point is, It's the toughest heli ever built and nothing has come up to replace it. There is a big nitch for it as a trainer, fun heli. Only thing it won't do is fly inverted.

Just talked to Mike Roffee at RoffeeTVHobby he is contacting Mutiplex to see if he can stock them here in the U.S. He is already a great resource for getting spare parts for the "original" corona.

Does anyone have details about the motor they are using? It must be a very low kv motor for direct drive, something like a kv of 300?

I don't know of any existing relatively small motors with a kv that low.

I think I read somewhere that the motor has a kv of 225. Which would give a head speed of around 2500 for 11.1v (if the quick in my head calculation is correct).

I'd like to get my hand on just the motor to experiment with direct drive on other helicopters.

Does anyone know of any *small* low kv motor?

Just spotted this thread interesting.

But the price thats about 197 quid for the version without radio. Im a fan of Multiplex quality, but at that price Im afraid it will go the way of the Corona. Beginners wont really appreciate the durability of the design and buy less toyish looking machines.

I was just about to try and sell my Corona maybe Ill hang on and see what parts translate.

In the UK Coronas are few and far between I only came across 2 or 3 other Coronanauts here. It was always a problem getting spares. Hopefully now that will change.

Yep - here's one !! All the closet Corona fans are coming outof the woodwork :-) This has inspired me to dust mine off (literally).

A very interesting development.

Hiya Matt! Hiya Fred! And other familiar names!

Little LMH reunion here. I am watching this one carefully as well. The reason I sold my Corona with my awesome CF crutch from Matt was when I went brushless I was getting nothing but glitching with the old CC25 ESC and had enough. It is good to see Multiplex is reviving a great heli. I really like the direct drive concept and she should be super quiet.

Good for you MRP... Long live the Corona!

Again, greetings Matt and Fred!

Notice the size of the can on the outrunner! Must have been to develop the torque needed as a direct drive motor!

Smoooooooooooooooooth..........

and

It does look like something that could be on the shelf next to the Air-Hogs at Target.....

And that Greybird, is the genius-beauty behind Multiplex. Multiplex's Elapor aircraft appear deceivingly simple, but they are incredibly well engineered for function and put many "high tech appearing" aircraft to shame.

Dang, it really is a LMH reunion isn't it!

Nice to see all the old crew still hanging around..

Matt- Don't answer your phone on Friday, I might be calling..

Rob, Fred, Toshi, etc.. Sure is nice to see the familiar names again.. I haven't been around the boards much..

I hope Multiplex can offer this heli for a good price, I would love to see the LMH come back..
