Could be interesting as long as the programming is sorted out better than the A9.

Don't burn me at the stake but I think this is butt ugly. Looks like a kids transformer. Way too many crevices to clean. YUCK.

Dont give a crap what it looks like, too busy looking at plane to worry about if Tx is pretty

Does it work is the question.. Ive been looking at other radios I can replace my A9 with, likely by banging the AFHSS module into em...

I wonder how far away the A9x is?

SLT, huh. I'd like to get details on that and the maxima RX.

Sounds like they're going for the Tx-R/BNF deal. Multiplex ultra micros?

It's the same mold, just a different color. I don't see any new crevices. Yeah, uglier, though.

Yeah, sounds like it's these planes:

I'm hoping it's not years away... AND that when it comes it doesn't need another 3 years to make it count properly

sort of disappointed i was hoping for a better design, and an updated screen (with the mass use of color touch screens on cell phones these days why not)

Too bad they didn't increase the channel count to at least 12

Do you have a problem with the current design though Shadow? (not including programing/function). Just the layout of the tx itself.

I find mine really nice to hold and the layout of the switches is pretty good for me. Why change something that seems to be working?

I do agree with the channel count though, I was hoping for one more channel at least. Got a couple of things I wish for one more...

The case is exactly the same. With a can of grey/silver spray you can have the 9X look tomorrow

I would have liked to see some changes to it, build in telemetry module and extra info screen.

Something between this:

And this:

it would be nice if they made it a little slimmer and lighter. Maybe something a little modern. Granted i like the A9 but what is going to compel me to buy this if i feel like i am getting the same product.

The other thing that bugs me, they STILL havent moved the neck strap loop so you will still HAVE to buy the extension. Even the $50 turnigy 9xr has figured out where to place the loop

I agree, I like the layout of the A9 more than any other radio ive owned. It aint broke.

Colour screen would be nice, but would you be willing to pay more for it? I dont watch many movies on my A9 at the moment, so monochrome does the trick Doesnt need dolby surround either

7 point mixes for flight controls sound cool, Im assuming the timers work

If they could un-goof the glider programming -

Sort out flap offset ( stick it in the right place instead of in the camber menu or wherever it is..)

De-mystify the butterfly on the throttle stick programming, the slider thing still makes no sense and ive programmed a gazzilion gliders on it.

Add a 7 point throttle curve to the throttle on switch menu

Allow a timer to be stopped/started by the momentary switch (H) which most glider pilots use for throttle. At the moment all you can do is start by flick, then stop by flick. Not useful for timing total motor on time...

Allow mixing a channel too itself in the Pmix menu. Ie if I want to mix throttle to throttle at a 50% rate with a switch held down let me do it. Some handy things can be done when mixing channels to themselves

Another thing that would damn handy would be to assign a mix/pmix on/off too a stick position. Even if only the throttle stick worked like this itd open up a whole swag of cool things.

Bug test the thing solidly for a week in the hands of a pilot before releasing any firmware

Do that and Ill buy it

It see no mentioning of telemetry improvements. And I agree with Jacko's list and assessment to ensure proper testing.

It looks more like a minor improvement to already for the most good working functions and some cosmetics.

Question now is when are they expecting availability.
