Gee I dunno Lee...
Have you ever flown inside a stadium before???

Hoping the planes come in tomorrow, then we'll start notifying pilots!

"Does anyone remember Ida Grove?"

Oh YES I do!! Ida Grove is only 90 minutes from where I live. I used to go every year for Byron Originals event.

That WWII re-enactment with 1/5 scale war birds was just unbeleivable. Got better every year until Byron finally sold the whole thing and it moved to Ames IA - was just never the same.

I'll never forget the ending of that show - the Japanese planes in flames on the ground, the oil depot billowing black smoke, the ack-ack smoke puffs still lingering in the air, the American planes circling overhead and then the Star Spangled Banner starts playing and in the distance you see the Marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima.

Lots of misty eyed folks at the end of that show.

Byron always did things first class.

Nice to see someone honoring that event - good luck and have fun! wish I could be there.

I was wondering for those of us who are going to be building these planes, is there going to be a set color scheme, and set of markings that we all need to follow so the planes match?

Hi Adam,
Not really, we're actually ENCOURAGING pilots to do something with their planes so they're not the same as the others of their type.
We'd like it to remain somewhat 'scale' (No Hot Pink Corsairs...) but if you wanted to add some stripes or paint your wingtips that's completely acceptable.
The only planes that will recieve minimal markings will be the C-47s.

Jack,

Are we going to try and do some practice runs before the main event?

Pat,

We will practice Friday night at the vendor fun fly. We do need to find a way for all "Battle for Honor" pilots to communicate prior to this practice.
