"Sponsored, AND Interviewed?"
Since deciding to accept to be the Vista sponsored pilot if it were offered,
I am now torn as to whether to join DP and Mike Smith on the new Master B's of Soaring Video, should Paul ask.. (you can understand why they'd all be beating down my door since I have won contests all over the world, even took second at the recent Eglin Soaring Champs in Florida). A lot of pressure....so think twice if you decide to make yourselves available for free video tapes and model sailplanes... By the way, just so you clearly understand the benefits involved with sponsorship...for instance, as an available-to-be-sponsored pilot for the Vista, my cost on the kit is under $60! So while selling my soul, the financial aspect in these hard economic times can really offset the price of being involved in the upper levels of competitive soaring. Gordy, I think you are making the right move here. You are revered because of your grass roots common sense approach to Soaring Competition. Besides, the huge cash influx from Contest Performance Bonus's and DVD Dividends would bump you up to the maximum tax bracket. Who needs that???? Remember Taxes are for the little people to pay!
