Sorry guys no pictures of the plane in the air or video in the air. Just to cold and windy today. Hopefully some time it will warm up and I can get some flying in outside where I can actually feel my fingers.
I decided to snap a few pictures of the Slick next to the 40" Edge to give a little size comparison. Both of these planes fly really well and the Edge was sitting on the ground next to the slick anyways so I thought I would give a few pictures of them.

Wow it looks alot bigger than the edge! Or is that my imagination? If its bigger how in the world did you get it to be around the same weight? It looks great by the way!
The 51in slick was my first choice but I already had the parts for the 40inch edge. Now I can still have a slick and it wont break the bank!

The 42 is just overall around bigger. Ben did a great job designing the inside structure to give it both strength but also keeping it light.

I have an axi 2814/12 and it rocks on a 3s 1500 20C. It's on a 30oz UZI XXL. Pulls it to the moon but, it weighs 106 grams. You said a motor less than 90 grams so I will look for something lighter.

Ok, this is exciting news. I live in NYC, and well, this plane fits in nicely with our compact (um, tiny) apartments and compact cars (VW 2D Rabbit).

This news also gives me the confidence to go all out with my current park flying 3D machine - the Mini Showtime - my first ever plane. If the showtime survives the spring, i'll get the Slick as a second plane - if not, what an awesome replacement.

All this excitement coming from a heli pilot who is not suppose to be in these forums to begin with... shhhh - don't tell anyone!

What are the flight times with a prolite 2100 for 3d with the Hacker A30-28s. I plan on trying the same motor with a 3s 1800 20c that weighs the same as the prolite or a 1500 20c that weighs 1/2 oz less. Would the 1500s not be able to have enough C rating and potentially bog down. I am thinking the 1800s are the better choice. These are the ones I am going with. At this price I may buy 4.

Andrew,

Would I be correct in assuming that this plane might the smallest I can fly with good concience on 3s 2200 25C?

I am still in my quest for the perfect plane on 3s 2200 to stay in the car with the TRex 450. I currently keep the 47" Edge in the car, but smaller would be better.

Your correct the 2200 would be a great choice for this plane. That is what I'm flying it with right now. I'm also getting ready to order up a few new Thunder Power 30C 1350's It will cause the airplane to drop about 2 ounces. We will see how that turns out.

Flight times on the 2200's are right about 7 minutes. I will go out and do some flying today and get some more flight times for you guys.

The 42" is just like the others, big. They're all big compared to other planes with similar wing spans. I'm lovin' my 51", 89" and can't wait to get this one.

For me, bigger is better with two exceptions: Medium size plane are good for learing new moves since it is easier to fly than small, but cheaper to crash than the big. Smaller is better for improving a skill once you know how to do it, since they are harder to fly.

That why I need the smallest, the medium AND the biggest availlable. Bring 'em on...

It's cool to see that the ailerons are still airfoiled with this model. A lot of 40" WS models have flat ailerons that warp easily.
