Wow - amazing to think I'm asking questions to the person whose name is on the plane...

I have the 47" SHP and love it. I have/had a couple of similar and smaller planes - Eflite Extra 260, Extreme flight Yak 47", E-Flite Mini Edge. What I didn't like about those might be attributed to higher wingloading - twitchiness, tip stalls, etc.

How does the 42" Slick behave, given it's shorter wingspan? Do you find it "squirrely"?

Bigster,

As far as squirrley I think I have gotten rid of all this on the slick. What you will notice is how think the airfoil is on the wing. When you increase this airfoil you can get rid of some of the snappyness that happens. When I make an airfoil for the airplane I look at all the aspects of it how much its going to weigh what moments were going to have for it then go from there. I feel that this airplane will be exactly like the 51 inch slick. It harriers just as well has just as much authority in all axis and is just a hoot to fly.

Doc,

I'll head downstairs right now and snap those pics for you. I'm lookig forward to seeing you really beat this airplane down in flight.

I'm a little confused. I was thinking about getting equipment ready for the Slick and looking at the comments. I have a Park 480 1020kv outrunner that some say would work in the 42" Slick. However, I see it's listed as "Perfect match for 3D park flyers weighing 20–30 oz" and "up to 275W". With this plane on the higher end (28-32oz), will the Park 480 cut it for 3D? I don't necessarily need stupid power (ok, maybe I do ).

You'll be fine with Park 480.

Bigster,
I have that Park 480 motor using a 10x6 Master Airscrew in an Eflite Taylorcraft. With a new Xcite 2200 3S lipo it makes 327 watts at around 28 amps according to the EagleTree. Should be plenty of power as the T-Craft will go vertical until you get tired of looking at it.

I am at 31˝oz in my 3dhs 40in edge( I know Im heavy) and it has the park 480 1020kv in it. It 3ds just fine! So I dont see an issue with it in the slick.
