Thanks to a VERY generous GianFranco Lusso in Switzerland I now have a very detailed (would you believe 19 very intricately lightened fuselage formers

) full size set of plans for the 3 meter 1945 Italian towline glider (Silvano Macera's "Nibbio")

. It appears to be a copy of the original plan and boy is it big (the plan itself is two 3'X6' sheets!).
The original structure is quite modern for a 1945 model so I only plan to make a couple of minor structural changes other than the ones required to allow the use of R/C.
The changes I am planning are as follows:
1. Increase the size of the center section spruce spars from 3mmX10mm (1/8"x13/32") to 3/16"X1/2" on top and 1/8"X1/2"on the bottom, decreasing the sizes towards the tip.
2. Adding spar webbing.
3. Replacing the alumininum blade wing joiner with one made of carbon fiber.
Attached is a drawing of the plane, and photo of GianFranco's 2.5 meter version.
Time to clear the bench.
