Isn't that rubber band in the way of the sensor ?

It would be in the way of the autofocus light (not needed for outside flying), but not the sensor. But this is just example only, I just slapped it on to show a friend. Though the rubber band is all that's needed to keep the addition in place for actuation of the servo... put on and take off in second, etc etc.
