Thanks Wobby!! Great slow mo' of the take off. I love the take off angle and bank toward the trees. Didn't realise it was that close to the trees.

Pilot misread the SID...
Must have plenty of power; that was quite a bit of bank during climbout. |

Looking at the video over and over I'm beginning to wonder if he was really that close to the trees. It also looks like he has plenty of air between the plane and the tree tops.
At the field where I fly there's a line of trees along the road and that's where I park and set up. The wind seems to always come from across the road then into the field. I walk out in the field some because I have to take off toward the trees and then make a sharp 180 to get into clear air. Kinda nerve racking the first few times, but then you get used to it. I haven't put a plane in a tree yet (knock on wood). Bill |

I can't imagine a real 747 taking of 6 foot deep grass, etc. Did it make it over the trees and land safely?
