FYI If any of you are looking for a 6s only motor in a 70mm fan, the new sapac MB-1 puts out around 2300 watts on 6s 2500mah packs at 115 amps. Another guys around here has been flying this setup. The new batch of mb-1's will have a 27.5mm endbell and a 3.17mm shaft intead of their older larger version that only used to fit in their own fan.
I dont know what it will put out with 40 or 30c lipos with a much larger capacity though. I'm sure the amps will go up. But none-the less is very impressive in a 70mm edf.
As far as 4s The hoffman stuff is the best outrunner design for the job!!!

It looks promissing though
You would be better off with the arc 28-58-1 on 6s. The arc 28-47-1 on 5s is a real killer!!!!! Makes the hp F-16 do around 175-180 ish.

i've got a 28-58-1 in an HET fan, on med timing i'm getting 80 amps on 6S 2500 40c's, with high timing i'm sure i'd get 100amps.

I've also had the sapac fan and motor, and it peaked to just over 100 amps at start.

two very powerful 6S setups, IMHO.

go for the lightflightrc's arc series of motors, the 28-58-1t is around 80$ and will put out 1500watts without the crazy high amps, and you could use a smaller esc,and not kill you 6s packs

40C continous 80C burst, they can handle a 100 amp draw.

120A/(.8x2.5A)=60C= 1 minute full throttle motorruntime. That is a joke right?

nope. no 70m airframe needs +2000 watts to fly, as a matter of fact, the airframe i had it in flew great at 500w. The 6S 2500 battery weighed the same as a 4S 3700, same energy inside (4 times 3.7= 14.8amp hours, 6 times 2.5= 15 amp hours.)

500W on 6S is 23amps, 10C. Thus, i had an airframe capable of blistering fast speed(if wanted), or long flight time. The lightweight of the battery contributed to the planes overall watts per pound of 556

and BTW, mine was on medium timing so i was only pulling around 80amps, which is roughly 30C, 2 minute full throttle runtime.

LOL!!
Lately I noticed things like this is typical American design philosophy like the larger outrunner trend. Europeans like lightweight setups in the 15-20C range for decent WOT flight times. I know I need to come up with a "throttle managenent" setup for a new Uriah to get the wingload down. I am reconsidering Seagull in my new version because of this for a possible 12s 1300mAh setup (might be too many ??? to estimate voltage sag and performance).
