I'm posting outside the Ultrafly Spear thread because obviously not everyone reads it. Understandably it's not everyone's cup of tea. Have got to the point where my 1.1KW seems a little tame and I need options for more power. Would rather it was from a 6 cell setup as that's the packs I have. I could go the Hoffman Wild Best or Little Screamers JetScream route for 1.7KW but I don't really want to invest in 4 cell packs.

Is there an inrunner I could use in a 70mm fan (e.g. HET 4 blade mini fan) that would give me 1.4KW or more on 6 cells? Any help appreciated. I just want to go faster than 153mph.

Mega 18FAI (spezial version 16/25/2 for F5d).
6S and around 60A in a HetFan.

There's a whole range of high powered, high efficiency inrunner Megas for the WeMoTec Minifan or DS30,

I posted these pictures some time ago, Mega has a very good track record of producing good quality motors with good efficiencies, in the high 80's.

On the Megas (and on the Neu's too) there's several different winds, so you can fine-tune your motor to you battery setup.

The kv's of the various Mega winds are listed for example here:

Note that for ex the Mega 16-30-1 is rated on 5S at 170A "for short bursts" in the Minifan, that' close to 2800W .

I think the trick seems to be improved efficiencies but especially some very high temp magnets/winding...

But also note that because Megas are 6 pole motors one turn difference makes a big difference in kv. The 2 pole motors like Hacker and Lehner are easier to match to a particular requirement. Having said that, if 2.8 kw isn't sufficient for you Dom..... But don't try it on 6s please But might give you what you want on 4s and be a surviveable setup?

With 6 pole motors another worry is the ESCs switching ability after 60-66K rpm.
I've run into that rpm limit before.
A 4 pole NEU would be the better bet.
Of course the 6904 rotor will fly apart somewhere near that range as well.

Nah, just to show that these new inrunner motor generations are getting pretty rugged.

So they should run well and efficiently at say 1500W, which is interesting. And you can bet that from established companies with a long track record such as Mega (or Neu) you will get more than just hype and hot air.

At 2800W the MiniFan is "only" spinning at 75k rpms . The new YGE esc series has an rpm limit of 80k on 6-pole, which incidentally is getting close (to within 15%) to the speed of sound at the MF blade tip ...

who says 5S for 30/1?!
My two 30/1 have now a long live with 4S 3800er and MIniFan or HetFan @100-120A and 52000rpm and >1500W
But if you dont cool the motor, you get easy a problem. We have damaged/ exploded a 30/1 rotor in a f5b hotliner @4S 170A because of bad cooling and high rpm. The balance weight will also get away....The rpms are a problem if it really turns 75k rpms.....

Who wants to test it?!

Me no my Lubach F16 is really hot with 1500W and 1190g with the FULLYMAX 3800 35C cells......

OK. Thanks for all the input so far. I've emailed Mega for some more expected power info on the Mega 16-30-2 on 6 cells just before I pull the trigger. Unless someone wants to clue me up earlier...

They have them listed on their "mega specs" page, but with no specs except kv. I know Ken has had them but I don't know why he doesn't list them.
The 16/35/1 on 5s in the minifan seems like it would be a sweet combo.
